The Incoterms rules were first introduced by ICC (the international
chamber of commerce) in 1936 to establish commonly accepted definitions
and rules related to the delivery of goods between trading partners
worldwide. The new edition of Incoterms launch for international business
since 2020 and the 2010 version is only in effect until the end of 2019.
In comparison with the old version, there are few notable upgrades in
Incoterms 2020 and the changes mainly include terms that can be applied to
any mode of transport and terms that can only to sea and inland waterway
transport. This note makes a special effort to provide suggestions and
resolutions for the newest specifics referred to Incoterms 2020. By means of
essential information of the rules and regulations, the new revision can help
importers and exporters around the world to understand their responsibilities
and avoid costly misunderstandings.
