inclined loading & supports
TRANSCRIPT
Inclined Supports An inclined member can be created by selecting a member and replicating it radially through an angle that gives the required configuration.
Inclined Supports The local axis displayed for the joints will show you the direction in which the support reactions will be displayed.
Inclined Supports For the joint reaction in line with the inclined member the local axis must be rotated.
Inclined Supports For instance, we want to see the reaction force in the inclined member we should align the local axis 1 to the inclination of the member.
Inclined Loads Loads (Forces & Moments) can be applied in 6
directions , X, Y, Z and rotation around X, Y , Z.
You can decompose your loading in these 6 directions first and then apply them.
Inclined loads can also be applied by choosing the local coordinates.
Inclined Loads Assume that the end of the inclined member
has no restraint and we want to assign a point loads that is parallel to the member (local axis 3 , blue axis).
Select the joint , go to assign , joint loads , forces.
