INTRODUCTION
This ordering guide gives step by step instructions on placing online orders for purchasing
required and recommended materials for Incarcerated students enrolled in the Distance Learning
Program.
Please have in advance the student’s class schedule; this includes Term, Department, Course,
and Section number (CRN) before placing the order.
Incarcerated students are NOT eligible for the Rental or Digital textbook price options through
the online ordering process. USED textbooks are subject to availability and will be substituted
for NEW. For searching for approved supplies, enter “incarcerated approved” into the search
box on the Home Page of the website. Please confirm with the student that they are authorized
to receive specific supplies before ordering. Supplies that are not incarcerated approved will be
removed from the order.
INCARCERATED STUDENT ORDERING PROCEDURES
Step: Screen View:
1. Open your web browser and type
the bookstore URL
http://coastlineccbookstore.com/.
2. Select on the Textbooks tab and
select the Find Textbooks link
Type “Incarcerated Approved” to find
approved supplies

3. Select Coastline Community
College from the Select A
Campus drop down menu, then
select your Term, Department,
Course and Section (CRN)
Up to 4 courses can be entered at a
time
Select on the Find Materials
button at the bottom of the screen
once all courses have been entered
4. This screen will show all the
required or recommended materials for the student’s courses

5. Choose the format for each book
by selecting the Select Format
drop down menu
Please note; that some textbooks
are only available in the New
Format
(Books for rent are NOT
available to Incarcerated
Students at this time)
Please be aware that after
selecting Buy Used, an advisory
text will show “Used books are
subject to availability”
6. After selecting your books, click
the Add Item(s) to Cart button at
the top or bottom of the screen

7. Items that have been added to the
shopping cart can be viewed on
this page
As well as add additional
required textbooks or remove
courses from the user’s list
Select the VIEW CART button
to view all items in your shopping
cart
Please note: If this screen does
not appear go to step 8

8. This screen shows the items in
your shopping cart
If changes are needed, select
EDIT
To remove an item from your cart
select REMOVE
To change a quantity of an item,
place your cursor in the quantity
box and type in the new number,
then select UPDATE
Select Checkout on the right
hand side to continue
After clicking the Checkout
button; if purchasing used
textbooks, a dialog box will
appear asking to confirm the
estimated total based on USED
textbooks
Click CONTINUE to confirm
estimate or CANCEL to edit
order
9. If you do not wish to CREATE
AN ACCOUNT, Please continue
checkout as a GUEST
Note
If a USED textbook is not available,
Coastline Bookstore will substitute it
for a NEW book and your final total
will be higher than the current
estimate.

10. In the “CONTINUE AS A
GUEST” box; enter YOUR first
and last name with email and
phone number
Select SHIP TO MY
ADDRESS: In this section you
will enter the STUDENT’S
name, incarcerated number
(CDC#), and student’s shipping
address
The information entered in the Ship to
my Address will be the incarcerated
student’s name, CDC number, housing
number, and facility’s address

11. Input the student’s first and last
name (You will need to remove
your name and enter student’s
name)
Shipping Option: UPS Standard
Ground Rate $9.95
Enter the student’s incarcerated
and housing number on the first
Street Address line
* The IC number (CDC#) and
housing number need to be
entered on the first line of the
Street Address to insure the
student receives the delivery at
their facility
Enter the PHYSICAL STREET
ADDRESS in the second line
(ex.123 Maple St.)
If using a PO Box ADDRESS:
remove the word PO from the
address (Example: Box 2222). If
the address line reads “PO Box
2222” a text warning will appear
stating INVALID ADDRESS
when you select CONTINUE
*Providing a phone number is
optional and will print out on the
shipping label if entered into the
field
**Orders will ship via USPS to
the facility for distribution when
using a PO Box number

12. Select your method of payment
type

14. Select New Billing Address
For credit card orders, please
enter the valid billing address
associated with the credit card
After entering all the correct
information, Click the Continue
button at the bottom of the page
The New Billing Address must
match the address of the credit
card holder. Click “New Billing
Address” to enter this information

15. You are now ready to review the
Order
This page will show you the items
that are in the cart with item
totals, shipping charges and taxes
Estimated total is subject to
change based on USED textbook
availability
16. Once you have confirmed the
total items ordered, total amount,
shipping rate, method of payment,
and shipping address:
Select Place Order button to
submit the order to the bookstore.

Congratulations! Your order
has been submitted to the
bookstore. You will receive a
confirmation email with your
order details.
Please note order number when
contacting the Coastline
Bookstore for inquires about
the status of your order
Please Note:
Orders are processed 4
weeks prior to the
beginning of the term
regardless of when you
placed the order.
