Stop the rot and sign up for the Fizz Boom READ! summer reading club! Grab your goggles and lab coats, too, for the fun STEM stuff that we’ll do, like labs, exciting experiments, and dizzying discoveries. Don’t forget you can earn amazing prizes too! Registration begins Tuesday, June 24 in Youth Services and continues throughout the summer. Begin your summer with a bang! Come to the Crossings Park to celebrate with musician Rick Goldin. You’ll be singing, jumping, and dancing along as he gets us excited for the 2014 Summer Reading Program. His humorous and lively songs have been enjoyed across New England for over 30 years. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and meet us at the Gazebo. For families of all ages. Free. Lots of Colonie families love letterboxing, and we need volunteer letterbox keepers! As keepers, your responsibilities will be to make sure everything is in its place, report problems to the Youth Services staff, and replace missing pieces provided by us. If you would like to care for a letterbox, please inquire at the Youth Services desk or call us at 810-0315. Save the date for our Finale! Families are invited to get together for evening storytimesat Crossings Park. The first storytime on Monday, July 14 will

include a free dinosaur book for each childwho attends! Join us every week at theGazebo for stories, songs, and fingerplayfun. Too hot, too cold, or too rainy? Noproblem! We will move to the Meeting Housenear the Gazebo. Bring your lawn chairs orblankets to get cozy! All ages welcome. Noregistration needed.

“Dino Tracks and Spiny Backs!” Join us for a dino-mitestorytime…and leave with a new book! We will walk like adinosaur, say goodnight to the dinosaurs, put our foot in adinosaur track, and check out lots of stories, songs andfingerplays about these long-gone creatures. Meet us outside ifthe weather is nice, and indoors if the weather is bad. Don’tforget a blanket! All ages welcome. No registration needed.

Everyone loves singing and dancing! Lisa Russo involveschildren of all ages with joyful music and movement in thisengaging program. You’ll be up on your feet, singing along! Allages welcome. No registration needed.

Otto the Auto is a kid-sized car, controlled behind-the-scenes by an AAA expert. He’ll amuse and intrigue kids when hetalks about staying safe while having fun! Otto will cover seatbelt use, crossing the street safely, playing away from traffic,and the importance of wearing a helmet when riding a bike. Allages welcome. No registration needed.

Can you lift an ice cube with a piece of thread?  Will a raisinfloat? Witness the wonders of science up-close and hands-on!Tricia Howland from Capital District Childcare Council will setup science stations for both kids and adult caregivers to conductexperiments together. No registration needed.

Here’s a chance to stay and play with your little one! Romp& Read is a 45 minute drop-in session for toddlers up to 36months. We’ll move to music, play with toys, engage in groupgames, share stories, and make new friends. No registrationneeded.

Muggle children entering 3rd grade & up are invited to amystical, magical evening at Hogwarts’ School! Will you becomea Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Slytherin? Attend ourpotions and charms classes, play a rousing game of quidditch, andearn a diploma from Hogwarts. Your library will be“transfigured” into Diagon Alley where you may visit Honeydukescandy store and the Leaky Cauldron. Dressing in costume makesit even more fun! To attend, children must have read at leastone of the Harry Potter books, and adults are asked to remainin the building. In-person registration only, starting Tuesday,June 24 in Youth Services.
