With a global portfolio of more than 2,500 successful
power industry installations, CENTRIA is committed
to providing our power industry partners with high
quality, environmentally safe metal wall and roof systems
in both the traditional and renewable energy sectors.
CENTRIA explores the special circumstances of
each project and provides design considerations to
ensure quality and performance. Locations potentially
affected by severe weather and earthquakes demand
design precautions. Whether a special coating system
is desired, stronger panels are needed or a unique
controlled release panel system is required, CENTRIA
panels have been tested and have survived some of the
most ferocious natural events on record.

Pressure Release WallsThe dangerous potential for explosions in power generating facilities requires
design solutions that provide protection. With pressure release panels, only a
portion of a wall will ever blow away. This relieves the pressure inside an area
and diminishes the amount of overall damage to the facility.

of two new coal-fi red electric generating units
and common facilities to accommodate up to
3,000 megawatts of generation.
SPECIAL SYSTEMS
The holes in the attachment item, whether
it is a panel or a panel attachment clip are
larger than the fastener head.
A special washer is placed between the
oversized hole and fastener head.
These washers are designed to fail
at certain pressure, thus allowing
the attachment item to pass over
the head of the fastener. This will
allow the section of wall to release
from the supports.
This section of wall is framed together
and held from falling to the ground by
restraining cables.

CENTRIA’s Design and Development group has worked with many major acoustical testing
laboratories developing acoustical-rated wall assemblies. Our own in-house design capabilities
can create custom systems to meet specifi c project sound attenuation requirements.
CENTRIA’s highly-tested Quietwall system is an adaptable way to enhance our Profi le Series wall
systems with the specifi c sound absorption or sound transmission loss values needed for any job,
whether STC, NRC values, or a combination of both, are required.
Quietwall Noise Reduction — sound absorption within an area
20 Gage [.91mm] Single skin – NRC = 0.10
Face Panel with perforated liner and 1.5" [38mm] thick (1.65 PCF) insulation – NRC = 0.85
Face Panel with perforated liner and 2" [51mm] thick (1.65 PCF) insulation – NRC = 0.90*Tested per ASTM C423. NRC = 0 is perfect refl ection.
NRC = 1.00 is perfect absorption.
Acoustic-Rated Walls
Quietwall Sound Transmission — sound barrier between zones
20 Gage [.91mm] Single skin – STC = 25
22 Gage [.76mm] Face Panel – STC = 40
2” [51mm] Foam Panel – STC = 23
Combination Sound System
20 Gage [.91mm] Face Panel with perforated liner and 1.5" [38mm] thick (1.65 PCF) insulation– STC = 34, NRC = 0.85

CENTRIA was contracted by Bechtel to
provide both STC and NRC values for the
First Energy Corporation’s Sammis Power
Plant project in Stratton, OH. The goal
of the project was to bring this coal-fi red
power plant into compliance with federally
mandated regulations.
Acoustical panel systems can effectively be used to:
Confi ne the noise source in an enclosure
Exclude the noise from an enclosure
Absorb noise in order to reduce the noise level in an enclosure

UL Fire-Rated WallsCENTRIA’s Firewall Systems provide layers of fi re resistant gypsum board
between the exterior profi le panel and the insulation and liner panel. By
increasing the number of layers of gypsum board, UL one-hour to four-hour
fi rewalls can be achieved. CENTRIA’s Firewall Systems are fi re resistant from
inside out and outside in.
Choose from a variety of profi les and achieve the level of UL fi re rating required.
Bechtel turned to CENTRIA to implement
an eco-friendly fi rewall plan for Louisville
Gas & Electric’s Trimble County project.
The location is one of the most
environmentally sound and technologically
advanced coal-fi red generation plants
in the nation and operates with a net
generating capacity of 495MW.

Architectural EMI/RF ShieldingToday’s technology has caused an increase in electromagnetic interference
through cell phones, wireless LANs, microwave relay towers and other electronic
transmitting equipment. CENTRIA offers radio frequency shielding solutions to
meet any RF shielding requirements.
EMI/RF shielding is a way to limit the amount of electromagnetic interference
across the exterior wall and roof surface of a building by incorporating a properly
grounded conductive material barrier into the structure.
CENTRIA has worked with architects, engineers
and shielding consultants to perfect RFI shielding
in many of our metal wall and roof panel systems.
CENTRIA’s RFI shielding solutions can meet typical
requirements with minimal additional cost.
Device failures caused by interference—or “noise”—from electromagnetic energy are increasing due to the growing number of products that contain sensitive electronic components.

Coating SystemsCENTRIA’s comprehensive protective coatings systems are designed to meet the specifi c needs of
each power facility.
The Versacor® Ultra family of premium coatings provides enhanced protection against harsh climatic
or environmental conditions in a variety of colors. Versacor Ultra coatings are recommended for most
power facility projects.
These new high-build coatings have superior resistance against corrosion, humidity and abrasion when
compared to most thin fi lm architectural coatings available today. The 3-mil-thick [75 micron] Versacor
Ultra Barrier Coat is applied over the metal substrate and is available with PVDF or Urethane top coat
fi nishes. This permits fi nish selection that meets your specifi c project requirements.
Fluorofi nish® (PVDF) is a durable
polyvinylidene fl uoride coating
system containing 70% Kynar
500®/Hylar 5000® resins.
Duragard® coatings are premium
high build architectural fi nishes that
provide premium performance in
color retention and fade resistance.
Added protection is obtained with
our Duragard Plus coating that
includes an additional .8 mil
[20 micron] PVDF clear top coat.
Versacor® Ultra PF consists of a
3.0-mil-thick [75 micron] Versacor
Barrier Coat and a .8-mil-thick
[20 micron] PVDF top coat,
recommended for corrosive
architectural applications.
Versacor® Ultra TF and HF fi nishes
combine the corrosion resistance
of the 3.0-mil-thick [75 micron]
Versacor Barrier Coat with the
durability of a Urethane top
coat. Versacor TF uses a 1.5-mil
[38 micron] Urethane top coat and
Versacor HF uses a 3.0-mil-thick
[75 micron] top coat.
