There will also be day rides, seminars, demos and some general hangin’ out at the rally. There is a lot going on, and just a little space in this newsletter, so here is a quick overview of the event:

Adventure R allyJust like school kids look forward to summer vacation…we motorcyclists look forward to the riding season and April 1st is the official beginning of the season. Here at RawHyde we have a lot of great rides and events coming over the next few months and this is about our first event of the new season.

We’re pleased to announce that registration is open for our third annual Arizona Adventure Rally which will be held in conjunction with the incredibly cool “Overland Expo” in Flagstaff Arizona on the weekend of May 18th. Visit this link if you’d like to join us http://www.rawhyde-offroad.com/pdfs/azadvrally.pdf.

If you’ve not heard of it, Overland Expo is one of those “must see” events for folks interested in any form of back country travel. There is something for everyone… from Adventure Motorcycle stuff to the most exotic four wheel drive trucks and vehicles you can imagine. It’s just an amazing event! There are vendors and exhibitors from all over the world and the entire focus of the event is adventure travel. Learn more at www.overlandexpo.com.

RawHyde’s Arizona Rally is a great way to mix the educational aspects of the expo with some awesome riding and good motorcycle fun. The Rally will begin on Thursday the 16th and wraps up Sunday the 19th after breakfast. Our rally is NOT part of Overland Expo, however we are located “side by side”… AND we will provide you with a one day pass to the Overland Expo as part of your rally package. We have a lot of fun planned

for the rally and the riding highlight will be an all-day guided adventure on the Mogollon Rim on Friday the 17th, which is a fairly easy and a stunning ride along an amazing escarpment of stone that stands nearly 2,000 feet above the surrounding landscape.

Training at the Rally? If you’ve been wanting to take a RawHyde class, we’ll be running our “intro to adventure” rider training program during the rally. The class will be held on Friday and Saturday. Please note that all our classes in California are sold out through June, but we still have a few slots here at the rally. We can accommodate 6 more riders in this class and rental bikes are available. We’ll be combining the training class with daily afternoon rides which will allow you to utilize the skills you’ve learned during the day. If you cannot make it to the rally for training you’ll still have other opportunities to do so at our new facility in Colorado which opens for training on the weekend of June 14th.

To learn more about the Arizona Adventure Rally and see a slide show to give you a feel for what it’s all about visit http://www.rawhyde-offroad.com/azadv.html. Below is snapshot of what you get when you sign up.

1- 8 great RawHyde meals, dinner Thursday through breakfast on Sunday2- Souvenir shirt3- Beverage package… beer or other drinks included.4- Guided all day ride on the Mogollon Rim plus other guided rides for both novice and experienced riders.5- One day pass to the Overland Expo

The complete rally package costs $325. That’s less than $100 per day for all meals, entertainment, guided rides and more; so c’mon – get on your bikes and come play with us in Arizona. ~Cheers,JimHyde

The BMW MOA Superstakes is Back! Yeah, it’s going to be huge ... starting April 1st!

The biggest motorcycle giveaway in history is back for another year with multiple chances to win new BMW motorcycles. BMW MOA Foundation sources say this year will feature even more new BMW motorcycles as prizes, making the 2013 Superstakes the biggest in the history of the event.

Foundation insiders leaked some of the plans, saying, “The 2013 Superstakes will definitely be the largest BMW motorcycle giveaway ever.” Sources confirmed that tickets will go on sale April 1, but the Foundation was working through some of the final details of bonus prizes at press time. “We have finalized a prize list and plan to give away 12 new BMW motorcycles with a value in excess of $250,000. We are finalizing the details for a couple of bonuses that will push the event over the top as the largest ever.”

The format is expected to be similar to last year’s, with multiple chances to win. A complete prize list will be posted in the April issue of the BMWOwnersNews along with details of the early bird prize drawing scheduled for early May. The final drawing date for at least 10 new BMW motorcycles will also be announced in April. Insiders say there will be a grand prize motorcycle package that will be one of a kind, and the Foundation expects to announce several bonus drawings when tickets go on sale.

Superstakes tickets will be available for purchase beginning April 1 through the BMW MOA Country Store at http://www.bmwmoa.org or by calling the BMW MOA office at 636-394-7277. Order blanks will also be available in upcoming issues of the BMW Owners News. Ticket sales will be limited to a total of 10,000 tickets. For more information visit http://www.bmwmoa.org/news/general_interest/the_superstakes_is_back.
