In the Name of Jesus!
Colossians 3:15-17
Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
So much more than words
1. We are "ambassadors" for Christ.
a. He has given us authority to speak and act as in his name.
b. When we speak or act “in the name of Jesus” we bring Kingdom authority and power into the situation.
So much more than words
2. This is how miracles are done today. In Jesus’ name we have…
a. Authority in prayer.
John 14:13-14
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
So much more than words

b. Unity in relationship with Christ.
c. Authority is lost when unity is missing.
A filter for living
1. Clearly, not everything can be done in the name of Jesus.
a. We cannot represent Christ well with sinful actions or attitudes.
b. If you cannot do something in the name of Jesus, you probably shouldn't be doing it!
A filter for living
2. Three filters that help guide our lives:
a. The filter of peace.

This is for YOU!

b. You cannot bear the image of God alone!
This is for YOU!
2. Singular: This is not just for spiritual giants. It is for every one of us who belongs to Christ.
a. No task is too small or mundane to do in Jesus’ name.
Mark 9:41
I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.
