Mrs. Hobby Cites Crisis in Schools
JACKSON. Mich., July 8 (UP). —Mrs. Oveta Culp Hobby, Secre-tady of Health, Education and Welfare, said today the Nation was "falling behind" in its^tdhool building program at a serious rate.
Hie crisis in the schools is growing steadily worse, she said in a speech at Jackson's "Freedom Festival."
The country "should be building 117,000 new classrooms annually" to handle the growing influx of students, she said, but actually is building only about 50,000.
