ANDRIY BESPYATOV, PH.D, CFA Current Society Role: Past Immediate President, Treasurer, Executive Board Member Statement of intent/motivation: I am applying for a position of Board Member of CFA Society Ukraine. I think that my vast experience in managing pretty much every aspect of the Society as well as few other roles within the CFA Institute’s community may be useful for the Society in the future. I can help with the development of any Committee/function. Therefore, it could be a formal position in the Nomination Committee, maybe a Treasurer and also an advisory role for multiple Committees. As for particular Committees, based on my previous experience, I might help the best with such Committees (the descending order), as Education & University Liaison, Advocacy,

Industry Relationship & Sponsorship, others. NOMINATIONS FOR CFA SOCIETY UKRAINE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR 20162018 TENURE

OLGA BURENKO, CFA Statement of intent/motivation: I believe in the mission of CFA Institute and CFA Society Ukraine and want to contribute to the advancement of the investment profession in Ukraine. Especially I would like to bring my time, energy and experience in building on behalf of the Society strong relationships with industry leaders and experts and in developing a sustainable sponsorship programs within Industry Relationship and Sponsorship Committee. I understand that due to a growing number of associations and professional membership organizations, today’s sponsorship sales environment became very competitive. However, I believe that conferences and other events, which focus on hot topics and provide unique content from highprofile industry experts, can still attract the industry’s biggest sponsors and generate sponsorship revenue for the Society. In turn, good events and sponsorship support will increase membership value and promote awareness of the CFA brand.

If elected, I will work on the following initiatives: Develop and offer two levels (annual and event) of sponsorship packages with distinct benefits to

sponsors (i.e. clear marketing and event opportunities). Annual sponsorship will allow the Society to have more precise annual budget for conferences and events for the entire year.

Prepare timeline of events at the end of year (in early November, before Ukrainian Investment Forum) to attract new annual sponsors for the next year at the main event of the Society and define budget for the next year.

Consider the possible benefits of cooperation with ACCA Ukraine and other associations; consider organizing some educational trainings together for charterholders. E.g. ACCA has more than 500 members and thousands students in Ukraine. Some cooperation can possibly attract new members to the CFA Society Ukraine.

Consider organizing some sport events (yachts, volleyball, table tennis, golf in summer, bowling etc.) to popularize healthy lifestyle among members, candidates and the Ukrainian society.

Consider organizing interviews/breakfasts/dinners with CFA charterholders, some articles/ success stories about charterholders in Ukraine to boost traffic to the Society’s website that in turn will increase value for the members and sponsors.

Give more attention to the activities on Facebook, LinkedIn and in media to increase awareness of the CFA brand for the benefits of the society’s members and potential sponsors.

Consider adding events that focus on career building in finance (e.g. CFA Career Day). I am ready to bring my expertise and knowledge of the Ukrainian investment market to make CFA Society Ukraine the key influential financial association in our country. Short bio: Olga Burenko is a Vice President at the Investment Banking department at Dragon Capital, holding responsibilities in retail, media and real estate sectors. ROMAN PEREPELYTSIA, CFA

Statement of intent/motivation: I would like to nominate my candidacy for a Member of the Board of Directors of CFA Society Ukraine for 20162018. I wish to increase my involvement in the activities of CFA Society Ukraine because I firmly believe that I have enough free time and ability to increase recognition of the CFA Designation in Ukraine. I am sure that such organizations are the basis for the development of professionals who can change Ukraine and its economy for the better. With regard to the participation in the work of the Board of Directors’ committees, the first priority for me is the Membership Committee. I believe that an important

element for the growth of the authority of CFA Society Ukraine is promotion of its activities among potential members and forming a perception of membership in CFA Society Ukraine not only as a mandatory requirement of CFA Institute for getting the charter, but as an opportunity to become more integrated in the investment community. As a secondary preferred role, I am willing to participate in the activities of the Ethics, Governance and Disciplinary Committee. I consider that my life principles and work experience are in accordance with the strictest requirements of the CFA Institute’s rules, and I can ensure compliance with the CFA Institute’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct by members of CFA Society Ukraine, as well as promoting best governance practices and ethical standards among the members of the investment community. ANDRIY SHCHERBYNA, CFA Statement of intent/motivation: I am very pleased to apply for Board member position in CFA Society Ukraine. After obtaining CFA charter in December 2015 and becoming a volunteer in the Society, I strive to make a valuable contribution into promoting CFA designation and expanding investment community with highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence. Having over 5 years of experience both in Big 4 and investment bank make me clearly understand how many advantages one could get from the professional network like CFA Society. However, maintaining and growing the investment community coverage could benefit not only a single member but also industry as a

whole. That’s why I will be more than happy to be a part of elected executive team and have a chance to make a positive impact. From listed Committees the most interesting for me is Membership and I see my contribution in the following: Networking events organization

Generating ideas / topics for discussion on these events Searching for appropriate speaker / moderator, leading all necessary communication Contacting with actual, potential and lapsed members regarding event participation Event administration (venue & logistics, sponsorship, media relations, general supervision)

Developing and conducting surveys for active, potential and lapsed members, analyzing its results. Answer the following questions: (1) why active members become lapsed? (2) what should the Society do to return lapsed / attract new members? (3) what are the needs of lapsed members? (4) what is the satisfaction level of active members in current role of CFA Society and its initiatives?

Social events organization (sport clubs / contests, entertainments on open air, etc.). Meetings where members could spend time together and have fun could be perfect means of teambuilding and strengthen overall unity of investment community

My second preferred Committee is Advocacy. Possible areas of activity: Monitoring initiatives of the regulatory agencies in Ukraine (re investment environment) and comment on them

alone or in collaboration with other professional societies Promote Asset Management Code and GIPS within UAIB community and investment sector through the

means of (1) published articles on specialized portals, magazines, etc. and (2) presentations on investment related conferences

For me to be a part of the Board of Directors is a great opportunity to implement some own and team visions in our local financial market. NOMINATIONS FOR CFA SOCIETY UKRAINE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR 20162018 TENURE

OLEKSANDR SHVACHKO, CFA Statement of intent/motivation: In the early years of establishing CFA Society in Ukraine I took active part in founding the Society and was one of the founding members of the Society. Among activities that I was in charge of were help with organization of first Ukrainian Investment Forum (UIF), attracting Investgazeta and Piraeus Bank as first sponsors of the Forum, inviting Head of Supervisory Board of Piraeus Bank Ukraine and Chairman of Citibank Ukraine as top speakers of UIFs, holding a first presentation of CFA Program and CFA Society Ukraine for students of Vadim Getman Kyiv National Economic University (KNEU) and first time inviting KNEU to the Research Challenge.

Now after finalizing my CFA charter in 2015 and returning from my job assignment from Kazakhstan I feel I have required resources and passion to reintegrate myself to Society activities. I believe that my previous positive history with the Society, professional experience, personal qualities, nonengagement in other organizations and absence of any conflicts of interests will provide me a sound background to devote myself to developing CFA Ukraine Society. I would be interested to chair the Branding and PR Committee and here are several among of my ideas:

Intensify Facebook and LinkedIn as PR channels. I want to transfer the current form of oneway communication (where only Society provides info content) into a new twoway communication – make them a platform to be used by members and the Society to engage into online discussions on professional, ethical and other topics. Improve content by adding online polls, articles, recommendations, etc.

Enhance the brand of CFA Ukraine by marketing and popularizing interesting professional and social events (including events endorsing healthy lifestyle and charity) organized by the Society.

Establish cooperation with financial journals, publish partner columns of CFA charterholders. Establish series of interviews/articles with recognized CFA charterholders, their success stories and how CFA

charter helped them in their business path; special stories about negative situations in real business world and practical analysis of how CFA Code and Standards could have been used to avoid such negative situations.

This is only a part of my many ideas for the Branding and PR Committee. My second preferred Committee is Industry Relationship and Sponsorship Short bio: Oleksandr Shvachko, CFA is Associate Vice President, Treasury Sales Dealer in Citibank Ukraine. He has over 7 years experience in corporate banking industry during which he held different frontoffice positions in international banks in Ukraine and Kazakhstan. NOMINATIONS FOR CFA SOCIETY UKRAINE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR 20162018 TENURE

OLEKSIY SOBOLEV, CFA

Current Society Role: NonExecutive Board Member

Statement of intent/motivation: The only thing that is constant today in Ukraine is change. I am sure that this situation is going to continue the next several years. The country is gradually transitioning into a new more open system The lack of social capital makes this transition extremely difficult. This is where I see the CFA Society could add value. Our high ethical standards, integrity and professionalism could fuel reforms helping to build a true market economy increasing the demand for our member services. In order to do that we need to work more closely with the government promoting

our professional standards and ethic codes, build a stronger network of more engaged and active members and increase brand awareness of the CFA charter. I would suggest engaging in two kinds of activities: 1. Providing services of independent supervisory board members to the state owned enterprises and tracking the reform progress. 2. Working with the state security commission to incorporate CFA professional and ethical standards into the local securities professional requirements. I've been volunteering for the ministry of infrastructure over a year and have a vast network of reform minded people working for or advising to the government. Working with both the new and the old bureaucrats I very well understand their motivations and procedures. I have a successful track record of buy ins for reform projects on different levels of our government system, be it the director of a state owned enterprise or a minister. That is why I think I'm the best candidate to head the Advocacy Committee. Reforms communication also took a significant part of my efforts during the last 13 months, sot the second preference would be to head Branding and PR. Short Bio: Oleksii Sobolev, CFA is an adviser to the minister of infrastructure of Ukraine since February 2015. During the last year he lead a small team of volunteers managing projects in transparency, open data, eprocurement, corporate governance and financial analysis for almost a hundred of state owned enterprises. The ministry has been ranked among the leaders in these areas. Before that Oleksii has been working as a portfolio manager for Dragon Asset Management for 8 years. The portfolio included various asset classes in different industries. He is a CFA Ukraine Board Member, a regular grader/mentor/judge for CFA Research Сhallenge, 2014 CFA Ukraine volunteer of the year and has been helping with the last two Investment Conferences.

NOMINATIONS FOR CFA SOCIETY UKRAINE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR 20162018 TENURE

OLEG YUZEFOVYCH, CFA Current Society Role: NonExecutive Board Member Statement of intent/motivation: I would like to apply for the position of the Member of the Board of Directors/Chairman of the Membership Committee. I have a two year experience as a nonexecutive director of CFA Society Ukraine. This was a very exciting and important experience for me as it allowed me to understand the inner workings of the CFA Society, its tasks, mission, goals and take active part in many activities such as annual CFA conference, grader and a judge of CFA Research Challenge and many others. Based on my experience, that I gained over two years, I am convinced that I will be able to fit well into the position of the Membership Committee Director. CFA members are the main asset of the CFA Society, thus maintaining the interest and support of the CFA members in the local society after they have successfully

received their charters is the key issue for the success of the CFA Ukraine. I myself maintained CFA membership and realised how important it is for my personnel development and career to have a link to the professional community which CFA Ukraine is. I am therefore confident that I can capitalise on the broad network of connections that I have made during my career in the investment field in order to support involvement of the CFA members in the CFA Society Ukraine. Maintaining active membership will promote not only the CFA Ukraine but also the whole investment community and contribute to the further development if the Ukrainian stock markets, investment and banking fields. As a Chairman of the Membership Committee, I see my goals for the next two years as these: 1. Maintaining CFA Ukraine membership at the high level 2. Ensuring involvement if CFA Ukraine members into community. 3. Supporting CFA members in the continued education area. 4. Breaking through the important 100 member benchmark for the Society. 5. Ensuring sustainable development of the CFA Ukraine.
