We are excited to announce that the borehole for the water project in the village of

Ihunga has been drilled and water has been

found. The supply is ample and the water

has been tested and found to be of very

good quality with no contamination. The

village water committee has been meeting

routinely to discuss the progress and to give

guidance to the villagers on how they can

contribute. Fr. Fred Tusingire has kept us

updated on the progress of the project and

we are now halfway through completion. The

people of Ihunga are ecstatic and enthusiastic

to know they will have a safe, clean water

supply in their village. On April 9, nearly the

entire village gathered together to make

their contribution to the project. Male

villagers have contributed their part to the

water project by digging the trenches, while

the women cooked lunch for everyone.

Everyone in the village also contributed food

for the event. They are all looking forward

to the completion of the project. The next steps

will be to build the water tank and to lay the

pipes in the trenches, as well as set up the

solar pumping system. Once we raise enough

funds to get water flowing in Ihunga, it will take

only about one month to finish the project.

We're very close to reaching our goal and

helping our friends in this village, and we cannot

do this without the help of our wonderful

supporters. The day the water starts flowing in

Ihunga will be one of much celebration. Plans

are in the works for a large celebratory feast

and inaugural ceremony the day the waterproject is fully complete.
