NGOs (non-governmental organizations) to work with social media

New to MIT but long amiliar to the CMS/W community, Edward

Schiappa, now associate head o CMS/W, brings a background in both

classical rhetoric and contemporary media studies a rare combina-

tion. This work has led him to study, write extensively on, and connect

disparate bodies o work; Im currently reading his book Dening Reality:

Denitions and the Politics o Meaning, in which Ed exhibits some re-

markable talents or comparativity, making sure Socrates rubs elbows with

Justice John Paul Stevens, B.F. Skinner, and Benedict Spinoza while

tackling the rhetoric surrounding how we come to dene contested terms,
