In an effort to secure the funding which is critical to sustaining our pastoral, educational and charitable ministries, the Diocese of Metuchen is embarking on a telephone campaign for the 2011 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. Calls will be made from February 23 through March 31 (excluding Sundays) to those who have not yet made a gift to the 2011 appeal. OLV DESIGNER HANDBAG BINGO OLV DESIGNER HANDBAG BINGO Fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, April 13, 2012, 7:00 p.m., Monsignor Dalton Hall (doors open at 6:30pm). Ticket price is $30.00 and includes 12 games of bingo/1 bingo card per game. Additional bingo game sheets can be purchased at event as well as tickets for 50/50 and Tricky Tray Raffle. BYO wine, food and refreshments. Coffee, tea and dessert will be provided. Please consider donating an item to our dessert table. OLV Senior San Alphonso Retreat The OLV Senior Group will sponsor a one day retreat to San Alphonso Retreat Hose in Long Branch on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. The OLV group will be going with the Sacred Heart Group. A bus will leave Sacred Heart parking lot at 8:30AM and return approximately 4PM. The price of the retreat is $45.00 which includes bus transportation and a lunch at the retreat house. Participants can either send their check made out to OLV Seniors to Millie Trent at 23 First St. Sayreville, NJ 08872 or bring it to the March Senior meeting on March. 2, 2012.

OLV Seniors Trip to American Music Theater Featuring Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons The OLV Seniors are sponsoring a bus trip to the American Music Theater in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to see Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The date of the trip is Thursday, May 17, 2012. The price of the trip is $150.00 which includes: the price of the show ticket, bus transportation, bus gratuity, dinner at Shady Maple, and snacks on the bus. OLV Senior Group March Meeting The OLV Senior Group will hold their March Meeting on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 1PM in Monsignor Dalton Hall on Main Street in Sayreville. After a brief business meeting, a physical therapist from Briarwood Rehabilitation Center will speak on preventive ways to avoid falls that result in injuries to hips, knees and other parts of the leg. Don’t forget to wear your favorite St. Patrick’s attire. We are still collecting dues for this year. Dues for this year will be $10.00 a person for the year – September to June. Our meeting dates are: Apr. 12, May 4, and June 1. All meetings are held on Friday afternoon at 1PM except the April meeting which will be held on Thursday, April 12.Food donations to St. Vincent de Paul are always gladly accepted. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul welcomes those who wish to serve their neighbor. If you are interested in volunteering your time, please join us at our next general meeting – Monday, February 27th at 7:30 PM in Msgr. Dalton Hall.

Food pantry needs: Your generosity to the food pantry has been overwhelming! We are especially in need of cereal, jelly/jam, coffee/tea/hot chocolate, bathroom tissue, laundry detergent and baby items (diapers, etc.). All non-perishable food pantry donations, can be left in the baskets at all Church entrances. Thank you, as always for your generosity!

American Music Theater’s Christmas Show

The OLV Senior Group is sponsoring a trip to the American Music Theater’s Christmas Show-Home for the Holidays on Saturday, November 10, 2012. Come celebrate the festive Christmas season with a show that is filled with whimsy, wonder, and a world of fun.
