County's second oldest resident, Bessie June Reader. 106. a resident of the Bartmann Health Care Center in rural Atlanta since 1974. died at 7 p.m. Salurday (Oct. 31. 1992) at the center.
Mn Reader was born June 28, Ys86 and wa, a month younger than Kale Morris of Middletown, who was born May 21. 1886. Mrs. Morris still lives wilh her daughter. leona Agnew.
Mrs. Reader was of the Bap- tiSlra"illi.
Sho-<Als born June 28. 1886, in Lamar, Mo., a daughter of William and Martha Andrew Shelton.
After the fami ly moved west, Reader was three when the family moved back to Missouri by covered wagon in 1889.
She married Irvin Reader on March 2. 1907. in Clayton, Mo. They had no children and lived in the Carlinvi lle area most of their married life.
Mrs. Reader was. for a time, a teacher in the Palmyra area.
The Readers moved to Middletown in the late 19.50s.
Mr. Reader died Oct. 21. 1960, the year Mrs. Reader moved to New Holland.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. none of whom li ved to ,be older than age 88. • . I Mrs .. Reader 1,ived several years In New Holland before moving 10 the Bartmann Health Care Center in 1974 at the advice of her physician. the late Dr. Wayne J. Schall.
Dr. Schall adv ised the move because of Reader's age at the time, Reader's nieee, Ralpho Hartwig of New Holland, said today.
~"She never. ever complained that she was living 50 long," Hartwig said. "Until about a year ago, was doing very wel l. She had a beautifu l voice. Her favorite song was. "You are my Sunshine ." She was real witty."
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, also including nephews Orri s Shelton of Linco ln and Zane Shelton of Middletown.
Orris Shelton said of his aunt, "She loved to sing. ·She was known for hcr sin gi ng at Bartmann·s . She was kind of a special one out there. In her 90s, she was still singing."
She also had been a seamstress prior to moving to Bartmann 's.
"They were so good to her at the nursi ng home," Hartwig said. "They loved her. It was her home. All the aides were just really great with her."
Funeral services will be at II a. m. Tuesday at Stults-Neece Funeral Home, Palmyra, with the Rev. John Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Palmyra.

Survivors include two brothers. Walter Hutchcraft of Shawano, Wis .• and Rock Hutchcraft of Blue Island; one sister, Ste ll :. Keys of Yellville, Ark .; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the Dolton, III. , Fi rst Church of the NaUlrene with the Rev. Debora Lynn Ferch White offic iating. Burial was in Homewood Memorial Gardens in Homewood, II I.
Engle Funeral Home, Portage, Ind ., handled arrangements.

Anna Schoof Taylor, .57, of St. Joseph, Mo .• a lincoln native, died at 8 a.m. Saturday. Oct. 3 I, 1992, in St. Joseph, Mo.
Mrs. Taylor had been a medical technician at the stale hospilal in St . Joseph. While living In Lincoln. she had been employed by Kresge and K Mart stotes, both in Lincoln and Bloomington, for 15 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lincoln.
She was born May 2, 193.5, in Lincoln, a son of Arnold and Anna Haak Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Schoof and Gary Schoof, bolh of SI. Joseph. Mo.; one daughter, Debbie Williams of Blockow, Mo.; four brothers, Walter Haak and Carl Haak, both of Waukegan, Arnie Haak of Lincoln and Harold Haak of Palmdale, Fla .; fi ve sisters, Ruby Voy les and Rosie Swingle, both of lincoln, Dorothy Lisle of Amazonia. Mo .• Betty Evans of SI. Joseph, Mo., and Janice Walers of Gowcr, Mo.; live grandchildren ; and five greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Taylor, one brother. one si ster and one grandson.
Funeral sc rviees will be at I p .m. Tuesday at HeatonBowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel of SI. Joseph, Mo . Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, SI. Joseph, Mo.

Mrs . Dyke and h c r latc husband Raymond moved to L in co ln in 1956. She was employed by Stetson China Co. in Lincoln for seven years, then worked at Abraham Li ncoln Memorial Hospital for 15 years.
She was a member of First United Method ist Ghurch and Eagles LOdge .
Mrs. Dyke was born April 9, 1920, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a daughter of Earl and Minnie Flann igan. She married Raymond Dyke on Aug. 9, 1937, in East liverpool. Ohio. He died Sept. 11.1972.
Survivors include !luee daughters. Virginia Newhouse. PAtty Ewins and Shirley Ebelherr. all of Lincoln : one son, Robert Dyke of Akron. Ohio; four brothers, Charle s Wil son and Donald Wi lson, both of Canton . Ohio. Arnold Wilson in Ca lifornia. and John Wilson of Cleve land. Ohio; 10 grandc hildrcn : and four greatgrandchildren.
Also surviving is her longtimc co mpanion. Edwin Il orney of Lincoln .
She was preceded in deat h by three brothers.
Funera l services will be at 10 a .m. Wedncsday at Holland and Oafry Funeral Il ome. with the Rcv. Gaylord Buss offi ciati ng. Ourial will be in Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home .

Florence Seaton DELAVAN - Florence M.
Seaton, 86, of Mio, Mich ., an Emden native who fonnerly li ved in Delavan, died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov . 28, 1992, at Bloomington Nursing and Rehab ilitation Center.
Mrs. Seaton was a teacher in rural Pekin for many years, then worked for a lawyers' title and trust company for 20 years. She was a member of the Eagles Aultili ary.
She was born May 12, 1906. in Emden. a daughter of Bart and Virgie Zumwalt lrwin. She married Hennan Seaton on Aug. 26. 1933. I-Ie preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Herman " Pctc" Seaton of Escanaba. Mich .; one brother, Stan ley Irwin of Forest City; four sisters, Margaret Sullivan of San Diego. Virginia Sm ith of Minier and Mary Ell en Howard and Dori s Buchanan, both of Pekin ; seven grandchi ldren; and eight great -grandchildren .
She was preceded in death by one son. two brothers and one sister.

Decatur, died Frida y. Nov . 27. 1992. at his residence. Among hi s survivors arc three sisters in Atlanta and linco ln .
Mr. lamb retircd in 1980 after serving as a main tenance man at Decatur Memorial lI os-
pital for 25 years. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 99 in Decatur and the Lodestar Club of Decatur Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. II, 1924, in Marion County, Ind., a son of Charles and Margaret Bethman Lamb. He married Elizabeth Marquis on Aug. 16. 1969 in Decatur. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Bruce, address unavailable; one daughter, Karen Slunder, address unavailable; two stepdaughters, Betty Ke ithley and Carolyn England, both of Decatur; three sisters, Gerry Freehill of Atlanta and Luei\le Kelly and Mary Bridges. both of lincoln ; eight grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildr~n; and one greatgreat-grandchild .
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funera l services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Star of Hope Chapel at Grace land Cemetery, Decatur, wi th the Rev . Dan Spruell officiating. Burial will be in At la nta Cemetery, with military tites accorded by Atlanta American legion .
Visitat ion will be an hour before the service Tuesday at the chape l.
