Aro dudu gori esin [The Black cripple hops on the horse]

Afe yin wini wini gun efon [The grinning one climbs the bull]

Gogowu ni sa la gbede orun [Gogowu the heavenly black smith]

Abona niroko awon iya re aje [Abona at the iroko tree, their witch mother]

They are the ones that forged the sharp iron for ogun (God of Iron)

The large thunder axe stone for thunder (or sango)

The horse and sickle was given to sanponna (God of small pox)

The 16 pieces (ikin – palmnuts) was given to orunmila

The gong is what was assigned to our mother witches

They met orunmila on sand

When they were leaving heaven for earth

He (orunmila) asked what their mission was

They said they were going to destroy the world

They said the rich ones on earth will be made poor

Those that were poor will be forced to remain so

Those that were lucky will be made unlucky

Those that weren’t will never be given the opportunity (To meet with luck)

Orunmila said if that’s the case then am not going

They asked why?

Orunmila said if his child was rich

He wouldn’t make him poor

He couldn’t make the lucky one unlucky

He wouldn’t prevent the poor one from getting rich

Then they asked him to bring

Some item for a ritual pact

Orunmila asked what he should bring

They said he should bring 4 canes …….

This ifa is one of the verses from Ejiogbe. The above odu is not revealed completely so as not to

reveal too much of the hard earned knowledge meant for the genuinely interested.

What are imule(s); They are pacts that are made with astral entities or even deities, that are

supposed to put impediments in one’s way or prevent man from attaining a certain spiritual

height or even at times it could also stand as a promise to share powers with these entities or

deities.

Actually I just want to focus on the basic things like man’s day to day livelihood.

Man’s problems are caused by both the seen and unseen forces. Just like in the odu, Ogun,

Sanponna, Ara and Aj-e (e pronounced as the E in egg) were coming on a mission of destruction,

it was only Orunmila that requested for a solution to this impending problem. In this particular

odu, he was told to get some items and make a preparation and use it to mark his children and

they promised that whenever they saw this mark they would leave such children alone.

These pack of four are supposed to visit homes with diseases, economic strife, arguments,

disagreements, separation and eventually death. They go on their runs yearly and man should

always be on guard and protect himself from these forces.

There are imules that have been made with sickness, poverty, death

(They have their mystical names) and they never come near. You may ask so why do Africans

suffer a lot facing these terrible plaques all the time. Well I’ll say it’s because we have thrown

away our tradition and have started imitating something else we do not even understand.

Enough of that!

There are imules that could be made with the witches such that you wouldn’t become one of

them but will be told everything that goes on within their midst and shown every person in your

area that is a member. There is an imule that Orunmila used to make the goddess of wealth Aj-e

(The e pronounced as A in acorn) and her four attendants residents in his house. There are

imules that will prevent psychic attack from coming close to you.

Afose, epe, olugbohun (read Build your Ashe) also obey certain laws, there are imules too that

could be used to prevent olugbohun, afose and epe from having any effect on you. I would like to

say that most of these imules am talking about do not have any adverse effects, except the very

advanced ones, where you are given stringent conditions you have to follow (for those that want

to acquire some magical powers). We are not talking of that here.

There are imules you can make with iron so that it does not pierce you or even with guns so that

the bullets do not enter (hm funny I guess) over here some people make imule with water so

they do not drown or get carried away by water. There are special imule preparations that are

kept in a house to prevent ghost or demons or negative spirits from entering; this can also be

used to chase all those funny entities from haunted houses. Imules are wonderful secrets of

nature, if you posses the knowledge you can gain control over some things in nature.

On man’s problems

Hardship has descended in so many parts of the world. Different people of different professions

would give their own reasons and they are right, but to every thing physical there is a spiritual

side to it and I’ll deal with that.

There are opposites, the good, the bad, the right, the wrong, the cold, and the hot. They all affect

man. In order to avoid being affected too much by this negative aspect, (Some people are

already saturated in it all they do now is to spread the love) we have to understand the why(s)

and the how(s). Knowledge of imule(s) proffer a solution (like it or not). Another example here

will suffice.

Isebi isepa, esubi ipaka, chain on the legs of the parrot,

Crying koko fi oko behind alara’s house

Alara couldn’t respond, they killed alara

Ajero couldn’t respond, they killed ajero

And took his property

Isebi isepa, esubi ipaka, chains on the legs of the parrot,

They got to the backyard of orunmila’s house

They met the imule items on ground

And greeted him as an awo (member of the same secret society)

Orunmila responded equally.

In this particular verse of Ogunda meji, which I didn’t complete here, Orunmila’s life was spared

and they blessed him.

The spiritual path is fraught with many dangers, but laxity on the path of the spiritualists is the

greatest error one could make.

I know the question would arise what do I do, which kind of practices do I engage myself in.

Well write ups like this are supposed to sensitize and enlighten people. Know what to search for.

Then take a step from there.

Now you may ask what the benefits of imule are; well this can be categorized into 2. The general

and the specific. The general is basically what am talking about here. Some people call it Eyonu

awon agba (Grace of the elders, astral elders) or Ebe Agba (Appeasing the Elders, astral elders).

These would prevent diseases, accidents, make you loved and respected among your peers,

prevents the user from having psychic attacks – let me just sight an example here to give you

some little insight.

There was this lady who had a problem. At night when sleeping she used to have this feeling of

having sex with someone. This used to happen to her much often that she became worried. It

even came to a stage where she used to feel wet and see physical evidence of having had it at

night.

Now when she started using this imule formula she noticed that this phenomenon stopped but

later continued again when her preparation finished. She was actually using this imule formula

for something else. Well imule of this type is not the proper remedy for this problem. There is a

proper treatment which involves invoking this entity disturbing the person and marrying it with

another spirit entity so that it leaves our client alone for good. Other people will also have their

own methods working for them too. But we are not talking about that are we?

However it must be noted that though this imule wasn’t meant to treat that problem, it was

powerful enough to prevent the user from such attacks. This same imule also treats similar cases

too; for example a person who feels tied up at night, he wants to scream but no voice comes out,

wants to struggle but can’t move and has to lay down there till the moment passes. Or those that

are expecting a favor from someone, then all of a sudden the whole thing becomes a mess,

nothing is received and one is left depressed. For some people this keeps on happening to them

often, imule of this type is the right remedy.

There are so many I could mention, but let’s move on. These types of imules don’t make you rich

but makes living more comfortable, especially for those who have had it tough.

The more specific ones would be treating specific issues like wealth, clairvoyance, long life,

protection etc. and they are very powerful.
