CLUSTER OF EXCELLENCEMerge Technologies for Multifunctional Lightweight Structures
IMTC 2021 Lightweight Structures1 – 2 December 2021 | Chemnitz University of Technology
5th International MERGE Technologies Conference
Invitation & Call for Papers
The Continuous Orbital Wrapping Machine at the MERGE Research Centre. In the project
course of MERGE a pilot plant for a novel wrapping technology was developed, which
enables the production of fibre-reinforced plastic components with varying profiles as well
as convex and concave shapes.
Ladies and Gentlemen,We cordially invite you to the 5th International MERGE Technologies Conference (IMTC) from 1– 2 December 2021 at Chemnitz University of Technology.
The future of lightweight construction is multifaceted, smart and digital, thanks to new material combinations, innovative production technologies and functionally integrated concepts. Advancing research as well as new applications in these areas is the main goal of the Cluster of Excellence MERGE at Chemnitz University of Technology. This challenge is best met through interdisciplinary thinking and action, knowledge transfer and the networking of numerous actors from the fields of materials and natural sciences, production technology, microelectronics, system integration, design, calculation, simulation and quality assurance. The IMTC therefore welcomes experts from science and industry who share their knowledge and experiences in the research, development, and application of lightweight structures as well as their manufacturing technologies.
Now in its 5th edition, the IMTC will take place under the headline “Sustainability through Lightweight Technologies“. Centred on an interesting and varied lecture programme, the conference provides an established platform for the exchange of national and international guests. Talks will focus on topics that are particularly relevant for the sustainable ecological and economic production of hybrid lightweight components and are enriched by additional networking formats as well as a technological showcase and trade fair to promote a lively exchange and a cooperative atmosphere.
In light of the coronavirus pandemic and the likely necessity to adhere to a prescribed hygiene concept, as well as to enable national and international guests to participate without having to travel, the 5th IMTC will take place as a hybrid event consisting of online and face-to-face formats, which will be converted into a fully digitalised programme if required.
Be it digitally or on site, we look forward to welcoming you at the 5th International MERGE Technologies Conference.
