Indonesia has ratified Port State Measures Agreement through PresidentialDecree No.43/2016

Presidential Task Force in Combating Illegal Fishing established in 2015,consist of high officials from defense and security, including related technicalministries/institutions.

Several regulations enacted to enforce sovereignty and ensure sustainableuse of marine and fisheries resources, inter alia moratorium of foreign fishingvessel, prohibition of transshipment at sea, prohibition of certain fishing gear,certain size of certain species, etc.

Indonesia also comply with several regulation towards sustainable fisheriesmanagement, such as catch certification, product labeling, traceabilityobligation, VMS, high seas monitoring, and strong legal enforcement bysinking vessels involved in IUU Fishing activities, as well as human rightscertification requirement.

Indonesia is highly committed to support any efforts in combating IUU Fishingand actively involved in discussions and efforts to incorporate IUUF practicesinto a new norm within a framework of transnational organized crime

6.4 millions (95%) Indonesian fisheries consist of small scale fisheriesand traditional aquaculturists, and most of them need to be supportedto develop a low cost in record keeping.

Indonesian total export to US in the last three years, growth inaverage of 27.3% per year, with the total export in 2014 reached $1.8 billion.

The proposed new rule has included 17 species of Indonesia seafoodin the at-risk species list, which will affect to 92% of $ 1.8 billion ofIndonesian annual seafood export to US.
