Difference between AOOs & GIs:

• AOOs (Lisbon, Art.2)• Geographical denomination• Refers to quality or characteristics of a

specific product• Due exclusively or essentially to the

geographical environment (natural or human factors)

• Link with the place of origin is stronger in the case of an appellation of origin
