Fne new feature introduced by GSR8 is the Improved Timeslot Sharing (ITS) that allows

In GSR9 (software release *9+2), /otorola introduced "nhanced G#RS ("G#RS*) feature toincrease pacet data throughput by adopting new /odulation and $oding Schemes (/$S)Bowever, as shown in igure **, in GSR9 (software release *9+2, *92) "G#RS featurewas only supported by $T%& woring in Single =ensity /ode (S=/) $onse:uently tosupport "G#RS, the amount of timeslots per $T%& is constrained to eight which is only halfof $T%& capacity in ==/

Improved Timeslot Sharing feature introduced with GSR8 aims to increase the number oftimeslots per $T%& to more than eight, even if "G#RS is in service !ith ITS feature, $T%&in ==/ can support GS/6G#RS traffic on paired timeslots in two carriers as before/eanwhile "G#RS traffic can be served by the same ==/ $T%&, however it is limited toone of the two paired carriers, which is similar to the S=/ $T%& prior to the introduction ofITS This improved timeslot sharing is illustrated in igure *& 'fter introduction of ITS, thedouble density for GS/6G#RS and the support of "G#RS are well combined in same $T%&
