IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS

How do you feel about taking long, hard tests? What does the Bible say we should think about when our faith is tested? Read James 1:2-4.

That was written by the Apostle James, a follower of Jesus who wrote a book of the New Testament. Who do you think James listed as a role model of someone who persevered under suffering? Read James 5:11.

How did Job feel about being tested? Read Job 23:10-12.

Job is known not just for his steadfast faith, but also for his wisdom. Can you guess what he said true wisdom is? Read Job 28:28. What do you think this means?

THE LOSS THE LESSON THE PROMISE

Why was Chris so angry and confused? What is the worst thing that has ever happened to you, and how did you react?

What was Job’s life like at the beginning of the story? Read Job 1:2-3.

How did Job respond when he lost everything? Read Job 1:21-22.

Is it okay to be sad if someone dies? Do you know what Jesus did when His friend Lazarus died—even though He knew He would raise him to life again? Read John 11:35.

Can you guess what our last enemy is? Read I Corinthians 15:26.

Death may take our loved ones away from us, but the good news is that Jesus can take our loved ones away from death so we can see them again in heaven someday.

Have you ever had trouble understanding why something bad happened? Do you think God can use even the hardest, saddest things for His purposes? Read Romans 8:28.

Despite everything that Job experienced, he remained faithful to God. Do you remember what Job said about the Lord? Read Job 19:25-27.

Who is our Redeemer, saving us from sin and death? Read John 3:16-17.

Jesus promises that even in the midst of problems, we can have peace—and He tells us who will win in the end. Can you guess who that is? Read John 16:33.

Lord Jesus, thank You for dying on the cross to

pay the price for our sins so we can be with You

in heaven someday. Amen.

We praise You, Jesus, for dying on the cross,

then winning the ultimate victory by rising from

the grave! Amen.

Dear God, please fill us with Your wisdom,

strength and perseverance whenever we face

tests and trials so that we may please You. In

Jesus’ name, amen.
