Dear Trinity Members,
It is 10 am on Tuesday, March 24th. You might be surprised at what happens at 10 am
on a daily basis at Trinity. This being a Tuesday, the quilters would be about ready to
have their coffee time and would be grabbing Darla and I to join them. On Monday’s
at 10 am it is Bible study time where a half dozen of us would be around the table ex-
amining the book of Isaiah and discussing the stuff of the day. This Wednesday at 10
am I would probably be boiling brats in beer in preparation to grill them up for the
Lent meal and making sure the sanctuary was ready for Holden Evening Prayer. On
Thursday card club gets going at 10 am as they find their tables, get their food in the
oven, and have time of fellowship. Speaking of fellowship, 10 am on Sunday is about
when fellowship starts after worship and Sunday School is in the middle of their activ-
ities.
But none of that is happening. The fellowship hall is dark and quiet. Sunday School
rooms are empty. There is no sound coming from the quilting room and there are no
treats laid out on the counter in the kitchen. Heck, the heat isn’t even on anywhere
but the office as there is no need to heat the building when no one is in it. As I write
this, I’m by myself in this building at 1039 Nordveien Drive. But I’m not alone. And
neither are you.
Community is not about having a bunch of people in the same place. Community is
about a bunch of people who care and love each other no matter where they are. The
church is not a building but people who follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we,
right now, are being church in a new and different way. We are doing it through Face-
book Live and video devotions. We are doing it through prayer for our friends, family,
and neighbors. We are doing it through phone calls and Zoom meetings and the
like. We are the church, a community of believers who are connected not by sharing
the same space but sharing the same faith, a faith in the Son of God who died on cross
and rose from the grave to bring us to eternal life. A faith that rests on hope and not
fear, on love and not hate, on serving our neighbor instead of serving ourselves. Fol-
lowing the guidance of health professionals and having this building empty of people
is one way we are serving our neighbors. We trust that the Lord will be with us in all
of this.
I know that we are not alone, no matter what because I know that our Savior Jesus
Christ is right beside us and that we are together as this thing called church. I felt it as
you watched the live stream on Sunday or have shared the video devotions with
friends and neighbors. I have felt it in the checks you have sent in the mail and the
donations you have made through the GivePlus app. I have felt it as I have spent time
in prayer.
One day, this building will be full again. I will hear again the conversations of the quilters and the laughter of kids. I will see again the smiles of people of all ages and hear the greetings and hugs that so often happen between people. I will hear the sound of our youth singing and the words of the Lord’s Prayer said in unison. But until that day, I will continue to hear the voice of our loving Savior telling us to not be afraid, reminding us that He is with us until the end of the age. And I bet that you will continue to hear that as well. May the Lord watch over all of you, my friends. Be safe, be smart, and trust in the love and grace of Jesus Christ. God bless. Yours in Christ, Pastor Brad

WOMEN OF TRINITY
NEEDED
Church Lawn & Garden
Volunteers are needed to mow the Church lawn and weed and water the flower
garden. (Yes, the snow will melt some day). You can use the church’s John Deere lawn mower and trimmer. You are asked to supply the gas. Gardeners use our hose and water, but you supply the ‘green thumb’. Sign up sheets are on the table in the Narthex. Help keep our church grounds looking beautiful!
Women of Trinity for April 2020
April is a great month! It’s not too hot and not too cold. We get some rain, we get some sun and we get some beautiful rainbows to enjoy.
We served our first Lenten meal of Tacos and the Fix-ings on March 1. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed a fine supper and quality visiting.
New greeting cards have been added to our selection in the fellowship hall. Check them out for your home supply. There are some very nice choices.
We are beginning to think about spring cleaning and thrift sales. We will be setting up our Mission Kit Dis-play soon. In the mean time, keep your eyes open for gently used light weight/dark bath and hand towels. They go in both the Personal Care Kit, and Baby Care Kit, so the demand is high. We had difficulty finding plenty of sturdy combs, nail clippers and large safety pins, as well. If you locate any of these items, you may put them in the blue Mission Tub. Thanks in advance. Let’s have another terrific year at Trinity!
Have you taken a peek at Trinity’s Library Corner lately? There are many fine books for both children and adults. Let me know if you have a favorite.
In addition to the ELCA Women’s Conference on April 25th in Eau Claire, there is the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin Convention. It is at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake on April 17-18. The theme is CARE FOR GOD’S CREATION. You will find regis-tration forms on the round table.
I signed up for our Lifetouch Church Directory pic-ture time slot recently. The ladies say the available times are going fast. There are several ways to reserve your time.
Lent is well under way. I am looking forward to Holy Week and Easter Sunday with all its glory and cele-brations.
Look For Some Rainbows This Month!

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF
Lutherans have been feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and befriending those in need through Lutheran World Relief for over 50 years. One of the ways the ‘Women of Trinity’ brings hope to those in need is by assem-bling quilts, baby care kits, personal care kits, and school kits. During the next coming months Trinity Women will be asking for donations to fill these kits. If you are unable to fill a full kit, it’s okay to give what you can. Every little bit helps. A collection box is located near the church office.

Offering Envelopes
I have had some questions asked as far as offering envelopes and I would like to make sure everyone understands why they are changing. I know some of you have had the same numbers for years and now your numbers are different. I am trying to get the cost of the envelopes down for the church and the numbers of your envelopes may change each year with members com-ing and going. It will not make any differ-ence in my recording your giving at all. If you leave just a check in the offering plate, it goes to your account whether you have an envelope or not. If you do not want enve-lopes, please let me know. All of these things change your numbers from year to year. If there are any other questions please feel free to ask! Thank you!
