KALIDA, Ohio — Brent Avalanchegrain carts have set powerful standardsfor unloading speed, convenience, ca-pacity and durability since 1998. Thenew 96 Series models continue thatcommitment.

In addition to the industry-leading2,000-bushel capacity 2096 introducedin 2011, the model 1596 (1,500 bushels),model 1396 (1,300 bushels) and model1196 (1,100 bushels) complete the newAvalanche grain cart offerings.

Grain-handlingconvenience

Along with the industry’s first pivot-ing auger introduced in 1998, the Ava-lanche carts feature a new multi-directional downspout for optimumgrain placement control, standard onall models. The pistol-grip control forthe 1396 and 1196 provides easy adjust-ment of auger raising or lowering;downspout left or right and front orrear for one-stop unloading into eachtrailer compartment saving tractor driv-eline wear and tear. The five-function

control for models 2096 and 1596 in-cludes auger-pivot and flow-door con-trols to minimize hydraulic outletrequirements.

The pivoting auger provides morethan 5 feet of hydraulically controlledheight adjustability — from 10 feet 5inches to 16 feet 6 inches (depending onmodel) — and extendable reach — up to8 feet 11 inches from the cart — for pre-cise grain placement. Synchronizedupper and lower vertical auger flight-ing keeps grain flowing smoothly andevenly for faster unloading. Thepatented soft-start auger design en-sures a smooth and complete engage-ment of the upper and lower augers forlonger driveline life. The front portionof the horizontal auger and bottom por-tion of the vertical auger feature half-inch thick edge flighting where thegreatest wear occurs for extended life. The remainder of the flighting is athree-eights inch thick edge.

The Avalanche grain cart’s exclusivedrivetrain combines a belt-driven 20-inch diameter floor auger with a heavy-duty, direct-drive 90 degree gearbox forthe 24-inch (model 2096) or 22-inch di-ameter vertical auger (all other models)

for unloading speeds up to 1,000bushels per minute. The latched drive-train cover opens easily for convenientaccess.

UndercarriageThe new rubber-cushioned tongue

suspension provides smoother in-fieldoperation and added operator comfort. All models also feature a cast 2-inchsingle-tang hitch with chamfered open-ing that provides oscillation, allowingthe cart to follow the terrain for smoothtrailing.

Brent Avalanche 96 Series grain cartscan be equipped with the industry’sleading variety of undercarriagechoices. Steerable tandem axles onmodels 2096 and 1596 turn in unisonwith the tractor for enhanced maneu-verability. The oscillating design keepsall four wheels on the ground to keepthe weight spread evenly for increasedflotation.

Other undercarriage options includewalking-tandem duals with 30-inch or36-inch row spacings for models 1396and 1196, rubber-cleated tracks with hy-draulic cushioning, pivoting steel idlerwheels and 36-inch wide belt for less

berming while turning. High-capacitysingle wheels for the 1396 and 1196 pro-vide high flotation and versatility.

The reinforced gusset design, tubularsteel mainframe, 12-gauge steel shelland special alloy, stress-resistant steelspindles mean long life and durability.High-quality oven-baked finish inchoice of green or red with siliconesealed seams maintains the cart’s ap-pearance for years.

AccessoriesBrent Avalanche 96 Series grain carts

also have many accessories to meeteach grower’s specific needs, includinguser-friendly scale packages, side- andrear-mounted cameras connected to acab-mounted monitor for full visionduring backing, turning and road travel.

§ View and access mobiledevices more easily

Deere & Co.

OLATHE, Kan. — The proliferation of smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices hasmade them popular and essential communica-tions and information resources for today’s farm-ers and ranchers. As a result, John Deere isintroducing mounting brackets and attachmentsto make it easier and more convenient for produc-ers to have hands-free access and improved view-ing of their mobile devices while operatingequipment.

According to Tyler Rouse, senior marketing rep-resentative for John Deere Tractor Parts, forproper machine operation, it’s critical that mobiledevices be located and mounted where they areaccessible but do not interfere with visibility andmachine controls. “These brackets and mountsare designed to allow operators to access a widevariety of different mobile devices while in thecab of the tractor, combine, sprayer or other ma-chine.”

These new brackets include a cell phone mountbracket kit, a tablet mount kit and accessorymounting bracket kit. They are all cross-compati-ble with current John Deere monitor kits and arecustomizable to fit each operator’s specific re-

quirements in the cab.The cell phone mount bracket features the four-

pronged RAM X-Grip, which was specifically cho-sen because it meets John Deere’s toughrequirements and customer needs. It is designedto securely hold cell phones, GPS and other de-vices of similar size without the need for foampads or other stabilizing materials.

The RAM X-Grip is compatible and inter-changeable with a wide range of popular RAM

and John Deere mounts. The tablet mounting kit also attaches to the ac-

cessory mounting bracket or existing monitormounting bracket in the equipment cab and se-curely holds larger devices such as iPads andother tablets. Its durable RAM design holds de-vices firmly, even in rugged terrain, and featureseasy-to-adjust wing nuts and ball joints that allowthe operator to change the position of the deviceto fit his or her needs.

“All the mounts allow the operator to quicklyand easily attach or remove the devices from theholder without sacrificing stability or durability,”Rouse adds. “These mounts make it convenientfor customers to incorporate these devices intotheir cabs while maximizing visibility, accessibil-ity and operational efficiency.”

For more information on the cell phone andtablet mounts, as well as other accessories de-signed for your John Deere equipment, see yourlocal John Deere dealer or visit JohnDeere.com.Part numbers for the kits are: BRE10015 — Cell-phone Kit, BRE10034 — Tablet Kit, and RE343680— Accessory Mounting Bracket Kit.

§ For tougheveryday challengesCase IH

RACINE, Wis. — Case IH has two newutility powerhouse tractors to meet pro-fessional livestock producers’ demandfor rugged, yet comfortable and easy-to-operate equipment. Heavy-duty Far-mall U tractors deliver power andperformance, with the Farmall 105Uhaving 91 power take off (PTO) horsepower (HP) and the Farmall 115U hav-ing 98 PTO HP. Producers will appreci-ate the superior interior environmentfor extra comfort in getting day-to-dayjobs done.

“Whether moving creep feeders, hauling grain or cutting hay, producerswill appreciate the versatility of theseheavy-duty machines,” says Greg Lucey,Case IH Farmall Tractors marketingmanager. “These tractors are ready tomeet any challenge on your ever-grow-ing task list during longer work days. They also meet emissions standardswith Tier 4A engines.”

Running on updated clean dieseltechnology, the new Farmall U modelsuse Tier 4A-compliant Case IH FPT 4-

cylinder 3.4-L turbocharged and inter-cooled engines. For a more efficientcombustion process, fuel is deliveredwith electronic high-pressure common-rail fuel injection. This system providesefficiency, extended engine life, and im-proved cold-engine starting, but mostimportant, “This unique fuel injectionsystem provides greater fuel savings, allwhile maintaining high horsepower lev-els,” Lucey says.

Glow plugs warm the engine before acold-weather start, eliminating theneed to use ether for more reliablestarting in freezing temperatures.

Designed with operator productivityin mind, the models are propelled withproven 12-speed forward, 12-speed re-verse transmissions. The two Farmall Uunits incorporate an electro-hydraulicpower shuttle wet-clutch transmission. If applications demand it, the transmis-sion can be upgraded to 20-by-20 withcreeper or 24-by-24 with high and lowgears.

Comfortable, productiveenvironment

Going a step above the rest to makethe operator’s day more comfortableand productive, the newly designedFarmall cab includes user-friendly con-

trols and features. Reworked internalcontrol ergonomics provide best-in-class productivity and minimize opera-tor fatigue:

§ Easy-to-read instrument clustertilts with the steering column.

§ Integrated position for loader joy-stick.

§ Remote valves in a more accessibleposition.

Visibility to the loader and other at-tachments with the standard high-visi-bility roof panel is unmatched amongtractors in this class. The standard in-structor seat comfortably allows twoadults to be in the cab together. Theeasy-to-access driver’s seat can be up-graded to air suspension with a 15-de-gree swivel to make repetitive tasksless monotonous.

The new climate control system revo-lutionizes in-cab comfort. The improvedheating, ventilation and air condition-ing system, which is now in the flat-deck floor instead of in the roof, has 10adjustable vents providing superiorcontrol during those long days that arehot, cold or dusty.

Versatile performance and value isnot sacrificed in these new models.Owners can choose between factory-in-stalled value or premium type Case IHloaders.

No matter how heavy a load, the stan-dard 17.2-gpm hydraulic pump (optional22.2 gpm) and the load-sensing close-center rear remotes keep the tractorworking in all situations. Electronicdraft control with a standard rear-hitchfender switch plus a standard rear PTOfender switch will add convenience toany job.

Other versatile options include aheavy-duty rear-flange axle and 38-inchrear tires.

“Powerful, tough, versatile and com-fortable, these new Farmall U tractorsare your perfect companion for han-dling any chore — all day long,” Luceysays. “With 90 years of Farmall tradi-tion under our belt, these tractors raisethe bar of excellence and will keep youcoming back for more.”
