A native of Portland, Oregon, where he attended Portland State University and Lewis and Clark College, Randall C. Lawrence graduated with a Bachelor’s of Music from Lewis and Clark in 1978. In 1979 he was awarded a full tuition scholarship to attend the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati and completed his Masters of Music degree in 1980.

Following graduation, he accepted a teaching position at Toccoa Falls College in Northeast Georgia and later returned to Cincinnati to begin work on a Ph.D. in Musicology.

His community college experience began by serving as a one-year sabbatical replacement at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. A year later, in 1987, he became Professor of Music at Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington, where he taught nine years in the classroom. In 1996, he became Dean for Social Sciences and Humanities at Olympic College and served in this position for five years until he was selected to be the Vice President of Instruction until 2008.

Mr. Lawrence has served as Superintendent/President of College of the Siskiyous in Northern California since October of 2008.

Dr. Clifford joined the Commission in March 2008. She provides staff support for the substantive change review process, office management processes, staff development and cooperative efforts with other educational organizations. She served in both faculty and administrative roles at her former institutions.

Dr. Clifford comes to the Commission staff from Pasadena City College, where she served as Dean, Health Sciences Division, Title III Grant Coordinator, and faculty member in dental hygiene. She has also served as Dean of Academic Services and Interim Executive Vice President for Educational Programs and Student Services at Fullerton College. She has served as a self study leader at her institution as well as an evaluation team member for the ACCJC.

Dr. Clifford helps the Commission to expand its services to members in the form of an annual conference, additional workshops on accreditation and on assessment, and web based training and information services.

Kristy Anderson is Director of Planning, Assessment, and Research and the Accreditation Liaison Officer at College of the Siskiyous were she has worked since 2010. She chairs the Planning Committee at Siskiyous and serves a member of the Budget and Program Review Committees.

Prior to arriving at College of the Siskiyous, Ms. Anderson worked for thirteen years at Olympic College in Washington State where she was Associate Dean of Planning, Assessment, and Research. She also worked for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries as a member of the Planning Team in the Research Division.

Ms. Anderson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Western Washington University and a Master of Arts Degree in Public Administration from the Evergreen State College.

Stephanie Brasley has served as Dean of Liberal Arts, Library Services & Distance Education at Los Angeles Southwest College since January 2011. She leads and supports the work of faculty in the Arts, Humanities, Behavioral and Social Sciences, English, ESL and Foreign Languages disciplines, as well as non-credit ESL and the Library. She assumed the position as Dean of Distance Education in 2012.

She serves on the following committees: Enrollment Management, Curriculum, Technology, Budget, and Distance Education.

Prior to this position, she worked nearly five years at the CSU Chancellor’s Office as the Manager of Information Literacy Initiatives and later as Associate Director of Systemwide Library Services. In these roles, she led initiatives to promote and integrate information and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literacy and other library services within the 23-campus system. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Literature and a Masters of Library Science from UCLA.

Appointed associate vice president for student affairs in May 2011, Lui K. Hokoana is responsible for providing system-wide leadership in planning, organizing, directing, evaluating and coordinating the University of Hawai‘i System’s student affairs.

He also oversees the Hawai‘i Commission for National and Community Service and the National Corporation of Community Services, as well as three statewide programs—WICHE, Leveraging Educational Assistance Program and the State Approving Agency for Veterans’ Benefits—which impact Hawai‘i students who wish to pursue their education in Hawai‘i and beyond.

Dr. Hokoana holds a BA in political science from UH Hilo, MA in communications from UH Manoa and an EdD in education from the University of Southern California.

Sandee L. McLaughlin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in

Sociology from the University of California Santa Barbara and

her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from

California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo.

She has served Cuesta College since 1986 in the capacities

of Financial Aid/EOPS Director, Dean of Student Services,

Executive Dean of the North County Campus and College

Centers, and currently as the interim Vice President of

Student Services and College Centers.

During her tenure, she’s chaired and co-chaired many key

college committees including the Planning and Budget

Committee, the Institutional Program Planning and Review

Committee, the Educational Master Plan Committee, the

Strategic Planning Committee and the Cultural Diversity

Student Equity Committee.

This visit to Imperial Valley College is her fourth accreditation

site visit team assignment.

An instructor at Diablo Valley College since 1996, Mr. Tejada teaches in the Computer Information Systems, Computer Networking Technologies and Computer Science areas. He has been teaching online for approximately 12 years and teaches courses in traditional, hybrid and online formats.

Mr. Tejada is the Chair of the Distance Education Committee, Co-Chair of the Student Learning Outcomes Committee and a member of the Accreditation Advisory Committee at Diablo Valley College.

His experience prior to Diablo Valley College includes 6 years at LoanStar Systems, 2 years as an independent IT consultant, and several years in the food service industry. Mr. Tejada has a Bachelor of Science in Information Management Systems from the University of San Diego, a Certificate in Online Education from CSU East Bay, and has completed courses for a Masters in Education at CSU East Bay. He has served on 3 Accreditation Teams.

Mr. Thomason is currently serving as Interim Vice President of Administrative Services at College of the Siskiyous.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration from CSU Fresno.

Mr. Thomason has 33 years experience serving in 5 different California Community Colleges as a Classified Business Office Manager, Certificated Administrator of Financial Aid, Chief Student Services Officer and Chief Business Officer Positions. Additionally, he has served on 5 Accreditation Teams.

Irene Graff is the Director of Research and Planning at El Camino College, in southwestern Los Angeles County, where she has been for over seven years. Irene serves on the Planning & Budgeting Committee, Enrollment Management, College Council, and the Technology Committee. She also serves as the District representative to the Sustainability Committee of the Associated Students Organization. She has co-chaired her college’s Standard I committee twice.

Irene received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin in Linguistics and worked briefly as an ESL instructor before turning to work in research and assessment. She worked for more than a decade in the Office of Testing, Research and Evaluation at the University of California Irvine, where she also earned her Master of Arts in Demographic and Social Analysis.

A desert maven despite growing up in the Great Lakes region, Irene has taken many trips throughout the southwestern desert regions and is excited about serving on the Accreditation Visiting Team for Imperial Valley College, her second accreditation team.
