Knowledge Management
The interactions between the three KM system elements of people, processes and technology:
“ A systematic process for capturing and communicating knowledge people can use.”“ Understands what your knowledge assets are and how to profit from them”.“ Obsolete what you know before others obsolete it”.Perhaps the simplest definition of knowledge management is “sharing what we know with others.”
Knowledge Management[Nonaka and Takeuchi (1995) ]
provide useful insight into knowledge transfer processes and strategies. Figure 2 highlights how knowledge can be transferred between individuals (tacit to tacit), between individuals and codified form (tacit to explicit), and vice-versa through processes they refer to as socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization
Impact of KM on Power Sector in Bangladesh
Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) is a statutory body created in May 1, 1972. Installed Generation capacity (August 2014) has increased to 10618 MW.
The subsidiaries of BPDB are:
- Ashuganj Power Station Company Ltd. (APSCL)
- Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh (EGCB)
- North West Power Generation Company Ltd. (NWPGCL)
- West Zone Power Distribution Company Ltd. (WZPDCL)
