L-3 will Exhibit at Pacific 2015
Pacific 2015 International Maritime Exposition
October 6–8, 2015
Sydney Convention and Exposition Centre, Sydney, Australia.
This exposition is the only comprehensive international exhibition of its kind in Australia, Asia and the
Indo-Pacific region. Pacific 2015 enables commercial maritime and naval defence industries to promote
their capabilities to decision-makers from around the world. Pacific 2015 is a significant event to learn
about the latest solutions, products and capabilities being produced. As a leading integrator for major
maritime platforms, L-3 will demonstrate our innovative secure tactical integrated solutions for land, air,
sea and space during the show. L-3’s booth, #3I10, located in the USA Pavilion, will highlight our new
IMPACT Integrated Solutions™ capabilities. These solutions provide reliable, off-the-shelf military
communication systems to vessels ranging from patrol boats and submarines to large combatants. If
attending the Pacific 2015 exposition, we invite you to L-3’s booth to experience the impact of our

Integrated Virtual Services Network (InVSN), a Featured Capability of Our
IMPACT Integrated Solutions L-3’s InVSN suite, which will be demonstrated at Pacific 2015, will showcase new innovations in
command, control and integration of naval communication systems and beyond. The demo will illustrate
how L-3 is building on new technology in order to support platform missions, improve subsystem
integration, and dramatically increase the users’ insight into the system. Through L-3’s commitment to
enhance eyes-on capabilities of a vessel’s subsystems, our InVSN suite offers naval operators not only
continuous situational awareness, but also the ability to remotely access and troubleshoot time-critical
communication systems on each platform. The result is seamless connectivity between the
communication nodes and the troops, maximum equipment uptime, and enhancements to maintenance
operations that ensure the naval operators’ mission is uninterrupted. ◊

Threat systems are growing in both quality and quantity. Continued pressure on U.S.
defense budgets prevents the USAF from purchasing large numbers of major weapons
system platforms. The solution to this imbalance lies in providing rapidly adaptable
capability within the major platform fleet and the flexible weapons they employ. Open
System Architectures (OSA) are key to the rapid refresh of both platform and weapons
capabilities. L-3’s robust and mature Multi-Level Security capability is a key enabler of
current and future OSAs. “It has been such a pleasure for me to be involved in the OSA
efforts at L-3 CS-East,” said Russ Quinn. Russ Quinn
“Our engineers and staff are sincerely committed to continually increasing the USAF’s combat capability.
Applying OSA techniques, we’re working to ensure the fifth-generation fleet can accept the capability
enhancements required to defeat the myriad of threat systems today and ones coming in the future.”
Russ joined our sister division, L-3 CS-West, in 2011 as the Lead Business Development Manager for the
Pacific Region. He recently joined L-3 CS-East as Director, USAF Business Development, focusing on both
classified and unclassified programs. He is intimately familiar with aircraft upgrade challenges, having
spent six years in the USAF’s premier operational test organizations. He commanded an F-16 squadron in
Germany, directed the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) training and inspection division, and flew as a solo pilot
with the Thunderbird Team. Russ brings over 26 years of diverse active duty experience to L-3 CS-East. ◊

Ship-to-Shore Connector Enters Low-Rate Initial Production
L-3 is the C4 Integrator on the next-generation Landing Craft Air
Cushion vehicle. L-3 CS-East is responsible for communications
integration and ensuring the survivability of the Craft Computing
Environment, Alarm & Announcing and Communications gear,
along with entire craft-level Integrated Logistic Support (ILS). L-3
recently received an award for three Low Rate Initial Production
(LRIP) vehicles. The LRIP award is a significant milestone on the
program; it’s the turning point from the Design Phase to the Build
Phase. Eight LRIP vehicles are planned, with 64 production
platforms to follow. ◊ Ship-to-Shore Connector
