The excess power is delivered to a buffer store built into our ground source heat pump system. The power supplies a three phase immersion heater and the heat generated is distributed to the underfloor heating and office radiators. All the energy is utilised which results in large savings. In the last two years the immerSUN units have diverted over 7,000kWh, creating a saving of over £800 to the business.” Mr Jon Kemp, Sustainable Energy Systems Ltd (Great Eccleston) In 2011, Sustainable Energy Systems Ltd installed a 4kW solar PV system comprised of three ground mounted arrays which provides energy to power the customer’s farmhouse. The immerSUN automatically directs any excess generated electric which is not used by the house to the immersion heater in the water cylinder, supplying the property with hot water at minimal cost. As the tank is quite large (330 litres) this is an ideal medium to store the energy produced. I have been very pleased with the results as an average of 1,609kWh of electricity has been diverted to the heating of hot water per year. This has resulted in the gas boiler being used less for the heating of hot water. The unit is very simple to use and once set up gives useful information in relation to electricity diverted and savings made. I would recommend one of these units especially if you feel you are not fully benefiting from the electricity being produced by your wind turbine or PV array.” Mr Rick Brown, Little Eccleston

Sustainable Energy Systems Ltd installed an

Evance R9000 5kW wind turbine at the site in

2012. We also retrofit an immerSUN which is a

perfect accompaniment to the wind turbine as

it diverts surplus electricity into the customers

towel warmers via a bespoke domestic water

heating system. The immerSUN monitors the

electricity produced by the wind turbine and

minimises the amount exported to the grid by

diverting it automatically. It is a really smart

method of self-consumption which saves

money associated with heating water. It also

measures and records the savings made and

the display lets us view the daily, weekly,

monthly, annual and total savings.
