Slide 5 Bina Nusantara Workspace The Adobe Photoshop CS3 workspace is arranged to help you focus on creating and editing images. Creative : Use these tools to draw objects and retouch photos. Vector : Use these tools to work with vectors. Navigation and Information : Use these tools tot view the page and gather information. Slide 8 Bina Nusantara Slide 9 How to Use a Tool If there is a small triangle at a tools lower right corner, hold down the mouse button to view the hidden tools. Change the resolution value to change the image resolution. You can see through transparent areas of a layer to the layers below. You move a layer to position the content on the layer, like sliding a sheet of acetate in a stack. You can also change the opacity of a layer to make content partially transparent. Slide 18 Bina Nusantara Layer Palette The Layers palette lists all layers, layer groups, and layer effects in an image. You can create two types of masks : Layer masks are resolution-dependent bitmap images that are edited with the painting or selection tools. Vector masks are resolution independent and are created with a pen or shape tool. Slide 23 Bina Nusantara Filter You can use filters to clean up or retouch your photos, apply special art effects that give your image the appearance of a sketch or impressionistic painting, or create unique transformations using distortions and lighting effects. The Filter Gallery provides a preview of many of the special effects filters. You can apply multiple filters, turn on or off the effect of a filter, reset options for a filter, and change the order in which filters are applied.
