After 10 years as Vice President of Marketing/HR, Kimberly Ford retired at the end of 2016. A former newspaper reporter, Kimberly attended colleges in NC and Texas, and worked in marketing at Memphis State University and West Virginia University. Other jobs included the creative unit of SAFECO in Seattle, an Atlanta ad agency, VP of Marketing for MidSouth FCU, and Georgia Credit Union Affiliates. Her husband, David, retired from GAF in 2013. They will be spending time at home in Savannah, at their Rabun County cabin, and with their two daughters and six grandchildren.

Nominations also may be made by petitions submitted by members. Members who desire to name a nominee or nominees for a vacancy should prepare and submit a petition in accordance with the following procedures:

1. Petition must be signed by 97 primary members of Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union.

2. Petition must be accompanied by a completed Volunteer Application indicating that the person is agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected to office. Each nominee will undergo a credit check and background check to determine bondability. The nominee must state his/her willingness to attend Board meetings and devote such time as needed to fulfill this 3-year obligation.

3. Petition must be filed with the Board Secretary of Georgia Heritage FCU by February 10, 2017. Petitions may be left at the Credit Union and will be forwarded to the Secretary.

4. Only members 18 years of age or older can be nominated for the Board and are eligible to vote.

Saying Goodbye to Long-time Employees Ford and GloreSince 2009, Robert T. (Robby) Glore, Jr. has worked for GHFCU, becoming Vice President of Operations. He holds a BA in accounting from GCSU and is a graduate of the Terry Business College’s Credit Union Management School. Robby began his banking career in 1974, then switched from banks to credit unions in 1991. He worked for B&W FCU, MidSouth FCU, Georgia Power FCU, and CGRCU. Robby resigned his job in December 2016 to become the CEO of Combined Employees Credit Union, Warner Robins. He and his wife, Pam, have four sons and seven grandchildren.

Daileen GenierMSO, Lathrop

Having moved to Savannah from Fairbanks, Alaska, with her husband, who is in the US Army, Daileen has worked as a personal banker at Wells Fargo and an accounting specialist at a credit union in Alaska. She is currently enrolled in the University of Alaska. The couple has a baby boy named Jameson and a Labrador retriever named Maverick.

Becky OrsiDirector of Marketing/HR

Becky has extensive experience in advertising, promotion and management for shopping malls in Savannah, Augusta, Columbia, and Jacksonville. She holds a BS degree in Public Relations and Broadcasting from Mississippi University for Women and has completed 42 hours of postgraduate courses in the MBA program at Mississippi State University.

David SerfaceIT Systems Support Analyst

A 20-year military veteran, David was most recently VP, Information Technology at DocuQuest, Inc. Having studied computer science at the University of Maryland, he has been in the IT field since 2002. His many credentials include Microsoft Certified Professional, VMWare Sales and Technical Sales Certification, and Acronis Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery.

Alexis is currently enrolled in Saint Leo University in Savannah as she works to earn a psychology degree. Her interests include traveling and writing, and she hopes to author a book.

Krystal GelowF-T Teller, Lathrop

With 6 years’ experience as a teller/assistant manager for The Heritage Bank in Savannah, Krystal has joined the Lathrop staff as a full-time teller. A graduate of Richmond Hill High School, Krystal holds a BS degree in Early Childhood Education from Armstrong State University. She is looking forward to building member relationships at Georgia Heritage.

Georgia Heritage Wins Outstanding Business Champion Award

Georgia Heritage FCU received the Outstanding Business Champion Award at Step Up Savannah’s 2016 Annual Meeting. Accepting the award from Robyn Wainner was GHFCU VP of Operations Robby Glore. The award was presented in recognition of the Life Line Program, a small-dollar loan program developed by the Filene Institute and offered by Georgia Heritage FCU to area employers.
