To check ILL items out to patrons– Open ILLiad WebCirculation: http://illiad.lib.uh.edu/illiad/WebCirc

– Login using your branch’s username & password

– Click in the box next to the “Check Out” button

– Scan the barcode on the strap on the ILL book. (Above the patron’s name.)

– A confirmation message should display at the top of the screen, reading: “Transaction 123456 was successfully checked out.”

When a patron returns an ILL item:

– Open ILLiad WebCirculation: http://illiad.lib.uh.edu/illiad/WebCirc– Login using your branch’s username & password– Click in the box next to the “Mark In Transit” button

– Scan the barcode on the strap on the ILL book. (Above the patron’s name.)– A confirmation message should display at the top of the screen, reading:

“Transaction 123456 was successfully marked as In Transit.” – Place the item in in a red ILL bag.

A Note on Confirmation Messages

Should a different message (other than “successfully checked out/marked as In Transit”)

appear in red type at the top of the screen, there is a problem with the item in the ILL system.
