Expectations of blood lead reduction are not dependent on years of service.

All employees with blood leads > 20 ug/dl participate in program;

All New Hires participate in Program during first 90 days;

Each employee is assigned a counseling mentor to provide hands-on coaching;

Each Monthly blood samples taken (all other employees quarterly);

Program focuses on two key elements ◦ Basic Hygiene Awareness

Proper End of Day Decon Technique Proper Break Time Decon Technique Mid-shift Showering Mid-Shift Changing of Dirty Uniforms

◦ Proper Use/Storage of Company Provided PPE Respirator – Doff/Don, storage, cleaning; Assignment of PAPR

as appropriate. Gloves – Doff/Don; Disposal; Clothing – Proper vacuuming techniques. Boots – Proper washing techniques.

Employees with elevated blood leads are observed by peers, focusing on blood lead reduction opportunities;◦ Work practices generating excessive dust;◦ Positioning of body during tasks to minimize exposure;◦ Utilizing ventilation controls optimally?;◦ Adjustments of respirator while in exposure areas;
