Factories of production in Italy
There are about 60 factories in the
whole of Italy which produce solar
systems.Of these, only 20, 30
% are Italian

CLASSIFICATION OF PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM IN ITALIAN REGIONS
This is the classification of PVS per inhabitant in the italian regions (Wp/ab.)
The leader is Trentino Alto Adige (16,9 Wp per inhabitant), followed by Umbria (10,1 Wp) and Marche
(5,12); fourth is Emilia Romagna, fifth Puglia. Campania is at bottom of classification.

The Province of Syracuse, is the Suothernmost of Italy.
It has the best solar esposition

Because of sunlight enjoyed by
the area in Priolo Gargallo
(Syracuse), by next May the solar power plant
"Archimedes" will be operational. Equipped with a
system of parabolic mirrors that,
like sunflowers, are able to
capture solar radiation
continuously, the plant extends over an
area of 40 hectares and will be
able to power a city of 20
thousand inhabitants.

• Photovoltaic energy is an increasing business and the prices are subject to typical market rules and the request.
• For this reason to favour the installation and to produce clean energy new kinds of government incentives have been introduced like, “conto Energia”, the tax exemption of facilities and facility installation. (The governement pays untill 75% of costs).
12
“Conto Energia”or Energy Account
• Since 2005 Italy has embarked on the path of incentive rates in order to produce clean energy.
• Called “conto Energia” the contract made between a user and the " Electrical Services Provides" GSE is to reward those who produce clean energy.
• The photovoltaic system has two meters, one input and one output corresponding to two bills, one in debt (consumption) and one in credit (production). The excess energy produced by the photovoltaic system can be sold to the Electrical Services Provides (GSE).
13
• With the "Conto Energia" GSE regains the energy produced by private individuals through the panels at a price (36-49 cents), nearly three times the market price (18 cents).

•The final cost of a photovoltaic system of medium size can range from 8,000 euros upwards depending on the needs of energy consumption and the characteristics of the home.
•In the case of flat roofs well exposed to sunlight, the cost is much lower than of the sloped or slightly exposed roofs.
