Fast Facts
Probably the mos t famous photo out o f I JBC
At IJBC this year we concentrated on how we as
Junior Branch can have an impact within CISV,
within our NA’s, and within the outside world. We
had amazing sessions run by super knowledgeable
facilitators, and we both feel like we got a lot out of it.
In our (you)th sessions, we focused on how we as
young people can impact the world. In the iMove!
sessions we looked at where we are going as an
organization. In the Diversity sessions we honed in
on the content area for the year, and even got to do
the new Branch Out! Step 3.

Sessions
1
IJBC was filled with 21 amazing content sessions, all
of which were inspiring for us as NJRs. Some of the
stand out ones were: Reviewing the JB Review,
Return on Investment, Chapter Connections, and
Statz are Phun. What do these crazy titles mean, and
what exactly were the sessions? Well we’ll tell you!
Reviewing the JB Review: You probably all
remember a few months back when we sent around
the JB Review and asked you all to fill it out. Well at
IJBC, two members of the JB Review Quinn (USA)
and Bjorn (DEN) went over their findings. They
presented the findings of the JB Review and the ideas
behind it. We then discussed what factors define
Junior Branch and crafted short pitches to explain why
JB is important.
Return on Investment: In this session we explored
the uniqueness of IJB and created posters to explain
how IJB stands apart from other youth-driven
organizations.
We have a new IJR! At the end of IJBC, we voted in a new
International Junior Representative (IJR). There were four amazing
candidates: Dow (CAN), Grace (USA), Kristina (NOR), and Hana (USA). After an inspiring Q&A session, and a very nerve wracking voting period, it was
announced that the current Sr NJR of JB USA, Hana Strickland is our new IJR!! She will be working alongside Anjo (GER) to ensure International
Junior Branch (IJB) is moving forward and ever growing. We know she will do
a fantastic job, and we can’t wait to have a fellow North American
representing us. Both IJRs are super approachable and would love to hear from any of you! With the election of a
new IJR means the farewell to a former one. We wish Cande (ARG) all
the best, as she has made such an impact on IJB. We know she will be a
fantastic addition to her next chapter in life.
IJB Projects On the second morning of IJBC, anyone who had a project they were doing within IJB was invited to give a short preview of it. Some projects we heard about were CO[LO]R[E]S, a project showing the diversity within AJB; Kaleidoscope, a joint project between JB Colombia and JB Norway that culminated in an incredible book put together by the Divers(e) team; Where’s What, an interactive resource that has links to every document and website you could ever need within IJB.

More Sessions! Statz Are Phun: This session focused on the
work of the JB Review Team. Participants sat in
national delegations and answered questions
about topics such as Adult/JB relations, and the
definition of JB. These answers were then
charted to reveal trends and correlations
between elements of Junior Branch.
Chapter Connections: In this session JBs were
formed into groups of similarly sized NAs based on
numbers of chapters. The groups discussed
solutions to the communication and development
issues they face within their JB. They also shared
best practices, and ways their JB thrives. Cnada
was grouped with Brazil, Germany, and Norway.
We learned a lot, and were able to share a lot of
our amazing
ways!
Content Areas With this year focusing on the content area of
Diversity, many of our sessions looked at the
diversity within IJB. We also began looking into next
year’s content area of Conflict Resolution through a
few sessions, as well as some working groups have
begun projects surrounding it. Similar to the Branch
Out activities, a working group was formed in hopes
to create a similar grouping of ready-to-run activities
looking into the content area. If you would like to get
involved in this working group, let the NJRs know!
