Preliminary InvocationPreliminary InvocationPreliminary InvocationPreliminary Invocation
Let it be known that those that would take
upon themselves the mantle to partake of this
knowledge and use of the power that
manifests thereof be bound to ne’er incite
against the author, or commit any act against
his true will and desires, any force, wish, or
desire, and that any such attempt, by design
or misdemeanour, be annulled and, if such be
done through malice, a most heinous curse
laid upon the offender, causing immediate
excommunication and condemning thee unto
dissolution, an eternity of slavery and
torment everlasting.
Fiat!
Note: This text uses the male genitive as per
usual usage as being gender neutral rather than
resort to the clumsy “his/her”, “hir”, or other
such devices. In matters that are gender specific
the text is very clear to state such.

IntroductionIntroductionIntroductionIntroduction This document, Liber Ordo Serpentis (The
Book of the Order of the Serpent) details the
premier order of authentic Satanism (also know
as “Luciferism”); the Ordo Serpentis.
It has intentionally kept been clear and
concise and offers enough information for the
individual to decide whether joining the order is
of mutual benefit (themselves and the
organisation itself).
Any person interested in the order is referred
to I – Liber Serpente. That volume serves as an
effective introduction and grounding in
Luciferan lore. The order recommends that no
person enquire about membership until they
have had a definite personal experience utilising
the Liber Serpente material. The Ordo Serpentis
is not primarily a teaching establishment.
The fundamental purpose of the Ordo
Serpentis is to productively provide the avenue
for those awakening to combine in a way that
benefits the individual and the group while
furthering the essence and influence of true
Satanism throughout the universe.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 6 of 31
Joining the OrderJoining the OrderJoining the OrderJoining the Order The first requirement is that the individual is
familiar with, and has worked with, I – Liber
Serpente. That volume gives sufficient
information and tools necessary for any person
to immerse themselves in the Luciferan path and
decisively choose to continue along such a path
or take another.
Secondly the individual must be at least 18
years of age. (The Ordo Serpentis is not some
mind-control cult that seeks to use and abuse its
members. Every person must be of legally sound
and mature mind to apply for membership.)
Thirdly, the individual must provide a copy
of legally recognised identification that includes
a recent photograph of the applying member,
their current address and proof of age. Such
details, whether the candidate is accepted as a
member or otherwise, is kept confidential and
shall not be made available to any other persons
except as required by law. (This would entail
extraordinary circumstances but we believe in
being upfront to potential candidates.)
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 7 of 31
Fourthly, the individual has a questionnaire
and a pledge to complete and submit. The pledge
also entails a ritual. Again, the Ordo Serpentis
only accepts genuine practicing Satanists in
accord with the Ordo Serpentis rites and rituals.
Fifthly, the individual must be aware (and it
is part of the pledge) that the Ordo Serpentis
does not allow for concurrent membership in
any other organisation that claims any esoteric
matter. The candidate is expected to reveal any
past or present affiliations. If the candidate has
present affiliations then they must also provide
evidence of resignation from such groups or, at
the very least, provide for consideration clear
and concise reason why such membership does
not, and shall not, infringe upon the Ordo
Serpentis.
Sixthly, the member (again, as part of the
pledge) agrees to total secrecy pertaining to
Ordo Serpentis matters except as may be
otherwise required by law (extraordinary
circumstances).
Seventh, the candidate must conduct ritual
thrice regarding joining to ensure that such is in
accord with their true will and desires.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 8 of 31
Eighth, the individual must carefully read
and sign the membership terms and conditions.
Please be very thorough as these are of vital
importance. While the terms and conditions may
seem arduous (and you, hopefully, quite rightly
feel that much will never concern you) they are
necessary to help assure the integrity of the
order.
Ninth, there is a monetary gift to be made
upon application. Contact the Ordo Serpentis to
ascertain the amount. Any candidates that apply
unsuccessfully have this returned.
Tenth, just prior to sending the application,
the individual is required to determine and adopt
a ritual name. This is discussed further on.
That covers the ten primary points required
prior to making a membership application.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 9 of 31
BenefitsBenefitsBenefitsBenefits The primary benefit of joining the Ordo
Serpentis is the combining of wills of the
members in a manner that is productive for each
individual and the order as a whole. In this way,
the creed of genuine Satanism is strengthened
and furthered across the globe.
The individual is gradually introduced to
other members and permitted productive social
interaction to assist in furthering themselves and
the order.
All members past novice are part of the
Grand Coven. Certain members may decide, as
suits them, to form or join geographical covens.
Being a part of the Grand Coven ensures
that the member contributes by combining their
will with all other members to achieve the aims
of the order. The member also benefits from this
unification of the Satanic will in their personal
endeavours. The Ordo Serpentis is firmly
focussed on benefiting the emerging Satanic
Empire and the Satanic individuals that make up
such concurrently.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 10 of 31
When an individual joins the Ordo Serpentis
he receives the necessary instructions as to how
to prepare for the undertaking of the Grand
Coven once he has passed the novice stage.
A membership card is issued and a letter of
acceptance sent to all candidates that are
accepted. Additionally, access to the “Members
Only” section of the Ordo Serpentis web site is
provided. The details of the Grand Coven
preparation and internet access are required to be
kept strictly confidential.
The member is accepted as a novice and
agrees to, when undertaking rituals, wear the
white rope belt or sash of a novice. It is
preferable also that the novice obtain a simple
hooded black robe to wear while undertaking
ritual.
The novice agrees to undertake ritual at least
once per week, the awakening rite twice daily,
the preparation of participation in the Grand
Coven instructions on a daily basis, and infernal
communion monthly. These are the absolute
minimums.
Every member also agrees to make quarterly
submissions detailing their experience along the
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 11 of 31
Luciferan path for as long as they are in the
order. These are to be posted the week following
each sabbat.

Grades of the OrderGrades of the OrderGrades of the OrderGrades of the Order Unlike many organisations that claim to be
of an occult nature, the Ordo Serpentis sees no
value in cluttering affairs up with complicated
degree systems and “badge chasing”. With this
acknowledged, the order has a very simply
structure that ensures the wellbeing of the order
and its members.
Every individual, regardless of prior
experience, enters as a Novice (1st degree). This
indicates an individual who has newly joined the
order and is preparing for participation in the
Grand Coven.
Every member, with no exceptions, remains
a novice for a minimum of one season and that
must include one Sabbat. That is, the minimum
length of time is 3 months and then, during the
next sabbat, the member may participate in the
Grand Coven.
The sabbats are held on the following dates:
February 2nd (Candlemas); May 1st eve
(Walpurgisnacht); August 1st (Lammas); and
October 31st (Hallowe’en).
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 13 of 31
These are the times the Satanic Self-
dedication rite is held and suitable for the novice
to undergo the ritual to elevate them to an
Initiate (2nd degree). That is, a member of full-
standing.
As an example: Candidate X submits their
membership application to the order and is
accepted as a novice on February 27th. Now the
next sabbat is May 1st but the member will have
only been accepted in the order for just over two
months. This is less than the one season
required.
Therefore, Candidate X will not be
performing their rite of ascendancy to 2nd degree
until the following sabbat on August 1st. On
Lammas, Candidate X will conduct his right of
ascendancy and join in the Grand Coven. Prior
to this time Candidate X will practice the
preparatory material for engaging in the Grand
Coven and other Satanic rites as agreed.
Upon ascending to initiate (2nd degree), the
individual adds the additional commitment to
engaging in meditation and contemplation on a
daily basis. This need not be excessive but is
fundamentally important for the individuals’
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 14 of 31
development. Half-an-hour per day is the
minimum agreed upon. The individual now dons
the red rope belt or sash of the initiate.
Initiates are, over the course of their
participation, provided with the individual keys
they are to work with to further enhance
awakening.
The practice of the preparatory material for
participation in the Grand Coven should no
longer be required. If such is then this needs to
be addressed and the member may be required to
continue as a novice until satisfactory results are
achieved.
Many members may never ascend to Adept
(3rd degree) and this is in no way of concern or
undesirable. This grade is conferred at the
Supremum Magister’s (or officially empowered
representative) discretion and is effectively the
recognition of priesthood. This decision is not
taken lightly and is not dependant on any simple
arbitrary rules. Adepts don a black rope belt or
sash.
The potential and ascendancy to this grade is
beyond the scope of this manuscript.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 15 of 31
Offices of the OrderOffices of the OrderOffices of the OrderOffices of the Order The most relevant offices for the aspiring
candidate to be aware of are as follows:
Supremum Magister (Supreme Master): The
head, and ultimate authority, of the order.
Cancellarius (Chancellor): Acts on behalf of
the Supremum Magister.
Grand Master/Mistress: An initiate who
serves as an overseer of several geographical
covens.
Master/Mistress: An initiate who is leader of
a geographical coven.
Note: Adepts that hold office have the prefix
“Reverend” added to their title. This is not
implemented in the instance of Supremum
Magister or Cancellarius.
All offices (including those not cited) exist
only as the need arises but the above form the
core structure of the order.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 16 of 31
Rules and RegulationsRules and RegulationsRules and RegulationsRules and Regulations The order does not seek to inundate its
members with volumes of rules, regulations, and
protocols. Such are rendered reasonably
unnecessary simply by the screening process
taken for the admission of potential candidates.
However, it does serve for all involved to
abide by some simple and practical guidelines.
Doing so ensures that interaction within the
order is maintained as a productive and
pleasurable endeavour.
Here are the basic rules and regulations:
All members agree that they shall abide by
the decision of the Supreme Master and/or
empowered representatives in all matters.
All members agree that they shall not
involve the order in any illegal activity.
All members agree that they shall respect
and maintain every other member’s right to
confidentiality and, effectively, anonymity.
All members agree that, whether a current
member or after resigning from the order, all
matters pertaining to the Ordo Serpentis are to
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 17 of 31
be kept in complete secrecy unless otherwise
required by law only.
All members agree that they shall in no way
use their affiliation with the order to control,
manipulate, or in any manner take advantage of,
any other member.
All members agree to interact with other
members in a manner that is polite, respectful
and appropriate.
All members agree to uphold the Satanic
creed and nobility, in so much as is practical,
both when engaging with members of the order
and when dealing with others.
All members agree to keep Ordo Serpentis
and Grand Coven workings in the utmost of
secrecy.
All members agree to follow the instructions
of the presiding coven leader when attending
geographical covens.
All members agree that all materials and
correspondence relating to the Ordo Serpentis
are to be kept strictly confidential even if the
member decides to leave the order.
All members agree that they may be
suspended or dismissed from the order without
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 18 of 31
reason given at the discretion of the Supreme
Master or empowered delegate.
All members accept that, at the discretion of
the Supreme Master or empowered delegate, the
individual’s legal name and state of residence
may be made public knowledge if the individual
leaves the order.
(Important note: The reason for this is that,
in the past, undesirable persons have contacted
the order and then proceeded to try and run a
scam claiming authenticity from the Ordo
Serpentis. The order therefore reserves the right
to state: NAME STATE COUNTRY –
“Dismissed from order” or “No longer a
member” or equivalent as appropriate.
This is to protect ourselves and others from
fraudulent behaviour. It does not mean that a
person who departs in good faith, for whatever
reason, shall have their name publicised. They
may be noted on a members’ only list as “no
longer a member” but that is all.)
All members agree to address other
members by their ritual name and office as
appropriate.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 19 of 31
All members agree to contribute as best as
their circumstance allows to the continuance of
the order and the establishment of the Satanic
ideals throughout society.
All members agree that they may only act as
official representatives of the order if given
direct and definite permission to do so from the
Supreme Master or empowered representative.
All members agree that their primary
allegiance of any theological, philosophical,
religious, esoteric or occult alignment is to the
Ordo Serpentis and Satan, Prince of Darkness;
The two being irrevocably entwined.
The order has no intention, nor interest, in
taking command of your life and telling you
who or what to be, how to spend your money,
who to marry, or any other such matter. The
only real interest the order has in your life
“outside” is where there may be a conflict of
interest.
The order gives and expects loyalty. How
much you desire to involve yourself in the order
beyond the mandatory requirements is your
decision alone.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 20 of 31
CovensCovensCovensCovens As previously stated, all members are part of
the Grand Coven. Participation in this does not
require a person to be physically located at the
time. The alternative (actually, for those who
enjoy such, an enhancement) is attending a
geographical coven.
Now individuals may either seek to join an
existing coven (if there is one established
nearby) or else found one. Members must be
initiates before either course is pursued.
Entrance to an existing coven usually
involves an interview with the coven leader.
This isn’t some gruelling examination, simply an
informal meeting where both individuals can get
an idea as to whether or not they would both be
comfortable with the initiate joining the group.
(We are all Luciferans but still have varying
personalities. It is a social decision on the part of
both parties, not any official edict of acceptance
or rejection. The coven leader needs to see if the
applying initiate would likely “fit well” with the
existing coven members and the initiate needs to
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 21 of 31
be certain that they would be comfortable with
the coven leader.)
Once the initial meeting has been had then
both the initiate and the coven leader need to
carefully consider whether the initiate and other
members would benefit from the individual’s
addition to the coven. Either (or both) the coven
leader or initiate may politely decline or, as is
usually the case, both accept and the initiate is
inducted into the coven at the next gathering.
During the initial meeting the initiate is
made aware of any fees that may be incurred
attending the coven and frequency of gatherings.
Costs are kept to a minimum and can be
confirmed by contacting the Ordo Serpentis.
(Coven leader’s have certain guidelines they
must keep within as far as fees are concerned.)
If there is no nearby coven already
established then the initiate may apply to the
Ordo Serpentis to found one and take up the
mantle of coven leader. Initiates are supplied
with the appropriate details upon enquiry.
Geographical covens must be at least 6
miles (10 kilometres) apart and are named by
town, state, country.

Ritual NamesRitual NamesRitual NamesRitual Names Each novice determines and adopts a name
that they shall be known as for ritual use and
throughout the Ordo Serpentis.
There are a number of reasons for the
adoption of ritual names. Firstly, they allow for
a comfortable level of anonymity which is
particularly of benefit to those who are novices
or are corresponding with novices as this is the
period of time when individuals are becoming
known but are still gaining trust and feeling their
way within the order.
Secondly, and more importantly, such serves
as an immediate focus on the order and magical
matters. It is a moniker that states to all
concerned immediately that the focus is on
esoteric matters and not the day-to-day mundane
practicalities that we all must face.
The ritual name is preferably kept relatively
short and easy to pronounce. It is important that
the novice feel completely comfortable with
their ritual name as it is likely to stay with them
for life.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 23 of 31
The order does not accept names that are of
an established entity or infer a historical
personage. For example, neither “Asmodeus”
nor “Cagliostro” would be deemed acceptable as
these embody definite entities.
It is also preferable to avoid names that are
excessively romantic or of a seeming whimsical
nature like “Goldenflower” or “Pipsy”.
Names such as “Amorde” or “Cellista” are
far more endearing, enduring, and appropriate.
If a suitable name is not already obvious to
the novice then a technique to assist is to write
all the letters of the alphabet excluding vowels
thrice and cut each letter apart individually.
These are then mixed up and placed in a bag or
similar.
The applying novice then draws out letters
one at a time until they feel it is time to cease.
Once so, look at the letters and see what the
various combinations and orders of such apply
to you. Once this process has begun, do not
restrict yourself to the letters drawn. They are
merely a starting point. You will also
(obviously) need to intuitively include vowels in
the name.
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 24 of 31
An example: Letters drawn are Q,P,M,F,M.
This, in this example, flows to: QMMPF, to
QuMMoPF, to QueMMoS, to Kemmos, to
Kemnos. Kemnos (in this fictitious example) is
what the novice decides upon as it “feels
correct” to her.
The naming must be confirmed within ritual.
Once the Satanist has determined his ritual name
and is ready to send their request for
membership than the Self-dedication rite (as
detailed in Liber Serpente) must be carried out
as per the explanation for the self-initiation with
the ritual name declared and adopted. The
following is appropriate:
“I come to pledge my allegiance to you
Satan, Prince of Darkness. Accept me as a true
kindred spirit. I ask for your aid to tear asunder
the veil. I (your name) don the ritual name
(ritual name) as a sign of my dedication and
loyalty to yourself and I ask your blessing upon
my request to join in alliance with the Ordo
Serpentis as a true kindred spirit of the left-hand
path. May your light illuminate brightly upon
that which I submit for recognition and
Ordo Serpentis Book III - Liber Ordo Serpentis
Page 25 of 31
consideration and your spirit reveal my true
being to those that receive such.”
The applying novice shall also, during this
rite, by taking from the left arm, place a single
drop of their blood upon the designated place on
the pact, in accord with tradition. (Such will be
returned if the application is not accepted.)
Also be aware, only postal requests for
admission shall be accepted. Conveying via
electronic means is not acceptable.
All five pages (26 to 29 below inclusive and
the additional page with the copy of
identification) must be received for the
application to be considered, along with the
initial gift. Also, any papers detailing other
organisation memberships.
Ensure that, as far as is possible, the
information provided is in English.
Feel free to include additional
documentation if you believe such is relevant.
All documentation received by the Ordo
Serpentis shall be returned if the application is
deemed unsuitable.
