and panel interview task to earn the QIAL
• Five years’ relevant experience required

Arrangements for existing students

Three-year transition period
• Existing students have three years to complete their
current qualification
• Switch over to a new qualification with credit for modules
completed, at any time
• PIIAs and CMIIAs can accept CIA and use both
designations
• CIA will usually be required to take the case study exams
leading to chartered status – PIIAs advised to accept it
