Welcome to our Centenary! The Centenary Steering Committee was established to help formulate and integrate the many aspects of the Centenary Celebration. For this important milestone in Ivanhoe Grammar School’s history, our aim has been to create a program which not only highlights the important historical record of the School, but also allows us to see the School’s vibrant campuses and the strong support given by parents, alumni and friends.
Along with all the committee members, I look forward to the year ahead and to the entire School Family enjoying the Centenary Celebration

‘ The first duty, the first privilege, of a school is to help towards the development of cultured individuals, of men and women with broad
A message from the Principal...The celebration of 100 years of Ivanhoe Grammar School provides an opportunity to consider how far the School has come from its humble origins as a small parish school at St James’ Church, Ivanhoe. We take the opportunity in the Centenary year to reflect on the past, but also to recognise and celebrate the strength and vitality of the School as it is today.
The School has always looked outward with its curriculum and in its approach to learning, and students and staff at the School have been
encouraged to seek and embrace opportunities beyond the classroom. Building on our long history of educational achievement with an internationally focussed curriculum, excellent teaching and learning, outstanding facilities as well as a vibrant and engaged School community, it is with great anticipation that we look forward to the provision of outstanding education into our next 100 years.
Our School has always maintained strong links with its community and I would encourage as many Alumni, Past Staff, Past Parents, as well as our current School Family, to reconnect with the School in our Centenary year whether by attending one of the many events on offer or simply by making contact with us and visiting the School. If you haven’t visited us recently, I am sure you will be impressed by the developments and changes at all of our Campuses.
With best wishes for the Centenary year and beyond.
Fidelis Usque Ad Mortem
