Wave speed, (Represented by V ) is calculated by :

· Frequency (Represented by f) multiplied with wavelength (Represented by λ .)

As with all equations, it can be altered and used to find other things.

· You can divide Wavespeed by Wavelength to calculate frequency and

· You can find Wavelength by dividing Wavespeed by frequency.

Wave speed, (Represented by V ) is calculated by :

● Frequency (Represented by f) multiplied with wavelength (Represented by λ .)

● V=Fλ

As with all equations, it can be altered and used to find other things.

· You can divide Wavespeed by Wavelength to calculate frequency (f=v/λ)

· You can find Wavelength by dividing Wavespeed by frequency.(λ=v/f)

Quantity Symbol Unit Explanation

wavelength λ M Wavelength is thedistance between onepoint in any part ofthe wave to the samepoint on the nextwave.

Frequency f Hz Frequency is thenumber of wavespassing a point in asecond. For example,5 Hz means 5 waves

are passing through apoint in one second.

Wavespeed v m/s Wave speed is thespeed of a wave; Howmany meters ittravels per second. For example if a waveis travelling at 10m/sit will travels adistance of 10m persecond.
