BALNEÁRIO CAMBORIÚ:

Balneário Camboriú, headquarters of our local committee, is a city of the metropoli-tan region of Foz do Rio Itajaí, north coast of the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil.

It has a population of approximately 124,557 habitants. Balneário Camboriú is the second city with best life quality in Santa Catarina and the fourth in Brazil. The principal economic activities are tourism and construction. The main beach of Bal-neário is called “Praia Central”, witch has 7km and It is bordered by Av. Atlantica, whose charm is on the boardwalk that accompanies the whole seashore .

With complete infrastructure, it’s where the major hotels, bars, restaurants, night-clubs and stores are. The temperature ranges between 17ºC and 8ºC from May to August.

ITAJAÍ:Itajaí is located in the central-north coast of Santa Catarina and is part of the micro region “Vale do Itajaí”, on the right side of the river bank Itajaí-Açu. It has aprox. 201.557 habitants. It has the largest gross domestic product of the state and the highest per capita income. In Itajaí is located the largest fishing port of the country and the largest private university “Universidade do Vale do Itajaí – UNIVALI”. Most of the popu-lation is descendant of Germans, Italians and Portuguese. The mixture of these cultures is a city landmark.

ITAPEMA:

Itapema has a population of 55.016 habitants and has beautiful beaches.

The main economic activity is tourism and is the third city that most recives tourist of the state.

NAVEGANTES:

Camboriú has a population of 56.315 habitants and has a area of 214,5km². The main economic activity is agricul-ture.

It is a city with a huge social inequality, with many poor neighborhoods.

Navegantes has a population of 72.772 habi-tants. In Navegantes is located the International Airport Ministro Victor Konder, important cargo terminal and passengers, serving the regions of Foz do Itajaí and Vale do Itajaí , which together with the Port of Navegantes , a recent conquest of the city, makes the city a reference in national and international transport . With a coastline of about 12 kilometers, Naveg-antes stands out with its clean water beaches, suitable for swimming, water sports and fishing.

HOW TO GET HERE?FROM NAVEGANTES (NVT)

“MINISTRO VICTOR KONDER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT”

If you arrive in Navegantes you are very close (16km) to Balneário Camboriú. Around 20min by car. So it’s very easy to arrive in Balnéario Camboriú.

The way to get to Balneário Camboriú is this.

BY TAXI: It will cost around R$80,00. It’s that expen-sive because you have to cross the ocean by ferry boat.

BY TRANSFER: Inside the airport has a transfer com-pany that works with a pre determined schedule. It costs around R$29,00.

BY BUS: That’s a bit more complicated, because you have to get a taxi to the Fery Boat (Around R$12,00), then you cross it and you will arrive in Itajaí City (Fery Boat - R$2,00). In Itajaí you get a bus called “Praiana” (Yellow Bus) to arrive in Balneário Camboriú (around R$4,00).

HOW TO GET HERE?FROM FLORIANÓPOLIS (FLN)

“HERCÍLIO LUZ INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT”

If you arrive in Florianópolis, from the airport you have to go to the bus station called “Rodoviária de Florianópolis” that is where you will take a bus to come to Balneário Camboriú.

There are a few options about how to arrive at the “rodoviária”. The cheaper was is getting a municipal bus: Outside the lobby of the airport, you will find the bus stop. There, you can take the busses N.183/196/6120. It will cost R$3,10 or R$5,10 (Line 6120 - Executive).

The final stop of these lines are at the central station of Flori-anópolis, called “Ticen” located 500m from the “rodoviária”. It will take around 30 min. (11km) to arrive at “Ticen”, that you can go walking to the “rodoviária”.

At the “rodoviária” you look for a company called “Catarinense”,they have busses to Balneário Camboriú every half an hour andit cost around R$30,00.

OR if your prefer you can get a taxi, it will cost around R$150,00.

Developed by AIESEC in Balneário Camboriú, it offers this stage with a rich cultural apprecia-tion mediated by exchange students from several different countries, with the goal to contribute to the develop of three basic elements: Leadership, team work and self knowledge. All the activities practice in a fun and dynamic way to the participants: practicing sports and using them as an ally to teach abilities to life!

Provide to the children and teenagers a global learning through your biggest interests is one opportunity to guide them in a pleasure way to the conceptualization of important social values.

The 'Gira Mundo' (the portuguese expression for 'WorldTurns') is a social project where exchange students from different parts of the world to hold classes and workshops about different themes to children, tennagers and young adult in Brazilian NGOs.

The 'Gira Mundo' (the portuguese expression for 'World Turns') is a social project where exchange students from different parts of the world teach through classes and workshops about different themes to children, teenagers and young adults in Brazilian NGOs.

The trainee must pay a US$60,00 fee by PayPal within 15 days after the match. Most of the fee is used to pay taxes that AIESEC in Brazil charge for each trainee, and the rest of it is for our local committee financial health.
