Practical Solutions for Employers?

Work dedicated LinkedIn account

Copy LinkedIn contacts over to employer's main database

Require employees to amend the visibility of connections

Right of access/password control

Be specific regarding social media in restrictive covenants e.g. specify what amounts to solicitation – try and remove uncertainty

@Marissapick

Demonstrate your proficiency with all things digital, including Twitter & Facebook This shows you’re up on digital trends, which affect every

company

Employers are increasingly looking for this competency in potential employees

This is important for baby boomers: If you’re over 50, companies are worried that you won’t be able to use social media and other digital tools

The fastest growing demographic on Twitter is the 55-64 year age bracket

view

Becoming part of an online community is a great way to identify and follow trends in your areas of interest

Turn to your network through Facebook and Twitter with specific questions about your field, for a job search, or for other ways of advancing your career Not everything you read is true!
