I would like to thank Lorraine for

bringing me back to my neighbourhood.

As you know I am overseas and a long

time gone, so joining group has reminded

me of where I am from. While not a

perfect area, there was a lot of good about

the east end .... I'm talking about the

people. No, I am not a daily poster on this

page but I am a daily reader. Once again,

I would like to add my thanks to Lorraine for

starting this group. It has been a real walk down

memory lane, sharing stories, photos and music and a

lot of laughs with everyone. I had joined hoping to

reconnect with some old friends from EVan that I

had lost touch with over the years, but that didn't

happen. What did happen though was that I have

made some new friends and although I have only met

them thru cyberspace as of right now, we do plan to

get together in the future! This would not have

happened if it wasn't for you. Cheers,

Hello. Thanks to this site I

have caught up with all my

friends I went to school with and

used to hang out with who I

really missed especially Mike C. I

am so glad Lorraine started this

I joined the first day of the

group. One of the greatest things I

have found is that all of us that

grew up in different areas of East

Van, all had the same experiences.

I have also been able to re-connect

with people that I grew up with.

Lorraine, You have brought many of us

'EastEnders" together forming a new bond.

Not specific to a neighbourhood but to the

boundaries of East Van - north , south, east

and west. So many stories, so many

memories. Some good, some not so good but

still memories. Even those who voiced their

opinions to the point of anger. I from the

bottom of my heart thank you for revitalizing

those deep down thoughts. Did you think it

would have gotten this big?

Site so that all of us as a result of your kindness have

been able to re-connect with friends from years ago

who grew up in East Van and also the site has

allowed us to make many new friends from East Van

in our lives. We can have a bad day and come online

and laugh at posts or we can come online on a good

day and make others laugh with our posts. Together

we bring back memories that all of us can share

because we experienced it in East Van. Thank you

JUNE MARGARET FUERST

I was excited to find something on

Facebook dedicated to people who grew up

in East Van. The walks down memory lane,

the photos, the friendships and the history

that we all share is really amazing! Since being

added to the page I've reconnected with

people I hadn't seen in years, met people who

knew my extended family (oh, the stories!!)

and made some new friends. It was a brilliant

thing to start this page, thanks for getting it

going!

I have only been on FB for a year or

so and it has been so wonderful to be

connected to friends that until now have

just been memories. But it has been sad to

see how many of those friends have

passed on and will forever just be

memories. It was so thoughtful of

Lorraine to put together the East Van

Memories group so that we east enders

can keep in contact. Thanks Lorraine.
