If something is given solely for the sake of Allah, can both the wealthy and the poor eat from it or not?
Question: What is the ruling of the learned Ulama in this case: If something is given solely for the sake of Allah, can both the wealthy and the poor eat from it or not?
The Answer: Sadqa-e-Waajiba, such as zakaat and Sadqa-e-fitr, is haraam for the wealthy and Sadqa-e-Naafilah such as water from a Hauz or fountain (for the people) or the house of a musaafir khaana, are permissible for a wealthy person as well.
