Implementation of the new policy: Announced the publication of RFC5377,
RFC5378 and the "Legal Provisions" in:New Boilerplate Text Required for all new Submissions to IETF
Approved a transition plan for boilerplate text in new submissions: New submissions can use either the old or the new
copyright text until December 16, 2008 After 01h00 UTC on December 16, 2008, only
submissions with new boilerplate text will be accepted

Community Reaction to Trust Report
Several good questions were raised during the open mic Q&A including: What IPR rights and legal provisions pertain to
pre-RFC5378 contributions into the IETF? Answer: "We need to secure additional rights
from the original authors for derivative works." What IPR rights and legal provisions pertain to "non-
IETF" submissions? Answer: "We do not know, except that this is not
an issue for the IETF Trust."
