*Why Is Training Important?
11/4/20143
Don’t know how or where to get help
IEEE volunteers get ‘burned out’ and leave
*Takes years of volunteering to fully understand all that
IEEE has to offer
4 11/4/2014
Don’t have an IEEE network
to ask for help Volunteer is not aware of
other parts of IEEE
*Program Objectives
5
Designed to accelerate volunteers knowledge of IEEE’s organization, products & services, and resources and tools available to them
Helps Volunteers understand their role within their geographic units and the larger IEEE
Volunteers gain practical leadership experience and skills to apply in their professional environment
Set the stage for an on-going broader program to develop and prepare future IEEE leaders
Program’s expected outcome is to increase volunteers’ perception of IEEE as a valuable
resource to support them in their volunteer and professional careers
