Vision of the ADBook Project
Publishers and training organizations are now adapting textbooks and other content for delivery on mobile devices. – Books are enhanced with media and interactive activities, but otherwise
static digital versions of their paper brethren
But suppose that a “book” could: – Access mentors and teachers to assist on-demand (wifi) – Situational response to learners location (GPS, Beacons, RFID) – Recognize confusion, frustration, boredom… and adapt (camera / mic) – Understand and answer learner’s questions (mic)
– Continually assess and remediate (xAPI, widgets, data connectivity) – Interface with local systems, devices, and people (bluetooth)
