ADVANCED ENERGY MANAGEMENTAclara’s SGM1100 addresses the needs of Utilities as well as their customers by implementing advanced energy management and power quality monitoring, and by providing easy access to critical information. This enables higher productivity, improved efficiency and reduced energy costs throughout the energy distribution and usage chain.

Based on International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards, the SGM1100 meter was designed for residential and small commercial energy consumers. This single phase meter provides PLC AMI communications based on the PoweRline Intelligent Metering Evolution (PRIME) standard and DLMS/COSEM protocols.

Incorporating direct customer feedback throughout the development and design process, the SGM1100 meets a Utility’s mechanical, functional and ergonomic requirements.

The SGM1100 was designed according to Aclara’s world class quality and manufacturing standardized processes, helping ensure that Utilities are receiving reliable and high quality products.

Designed to power Smart Grid applications, the SGM1100 fulfills standard requirements to enable remote management of customer’s meters and safeguards critical billing activities. With embedded, micro-computing to power a new era of smart metering, the SGM1100 is ready to rise to the challenge of a shifting industry paradigm.

CUSTOMIZED CAPABILITYThe SGM1100 smart meter was designed to meet the current needs of Utilities in terms of quality, reliability and cost. Aclara has designed a fully compatible and adapted meter to meet a Utility’s projected large scale installation and replacement rollouts. The SGM1100 provides high quality and functionality in order to achieve a Utility’s Advanced Energy Management and Smart Grid objectives.

POWER QUALITYSGM1100 is the ideal power meter for monitoring and managing power quality in an energy supply network. The SGM1100 measures and monitors quality parameters, such as active and reactive energy in each quadrant, voltage and intensity per phase, and registers different load curves according to its time period configuration. It also stores rate information summaries for each billing contract period, providing a resolution up to the minute as well as a historical record of 12 months.

FUTURE PROOF COMMUNICATIONSThe SGM1100 smart meter supports PLC AMI communications based on the PRIME standard and DLMS/COSEM protocol. It offers a robust, reliable and accurate metering device interoperable with PRIME PLC approved data concentrators. It also offers an optical port for secure local communications.
