Project Title: IDOL FOSS DIGITAL CLASSROOM: A Digital Learning Environment
Objective:
The aim of this project is to teach various subjects of Information Technology to the students of the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) of Gauhati University, Assam, India. The project is already implemented in my institute and it is working since 2012. I have designed and implemented the project with moodle (https://moodle.org) , a free and open source virtual learning software. The idea behind the project are described below so that you can also implement it in your organization with minimal cost.
Features:

Working Environment:
1. GNU/Linux Operating System installed in a High Capacity Server2. Almost 100 computers in 2 computer laboratories are connected with the server in a LAN3. Moodle is installed and configured in the server4. Some Course Categories are created and under the course categories i have created the courses.5. Under the courses the subjects are created.6. For each student some accounts are created and they can access the tool with the username and
password provided.

Conclusion: I have implemented this environment and found very much effective. I have used it in my classroom teaching, where the students can directly access the resources by sitting in their computer. Thus in a traditional face-to-face classroom teaching, any subjects can be taught in a digital way. If you want to access the learning resources online, simply connect the server with Internet. Thus the teacher can teach the students in a blended learning environment.
