Develop identification services using morphological descriptions
Morphological descriptions will be edited via the scratchpad matrix editor. Results will be returned to the scratchpad instance for user access
Take benefit of the tools for descriptive data developed in the CDM EDIT platform
What we will do in ViBRANT
Single access key Free access key
Dichotomous or polytomous keys.
From morphological data, a tree structure has to be constructuted by hand or automatically by a Key generator
Use one (monothetic) or several (polythetic) characters at each node.
(Mykey)
Identification is made directly from the standardized descriptions.
One character at each step (monothetic) or several characters at the same time (polythetic)

Who are our users & how will they engage?
Scratchpads users:
• All providers of morphological data with the matrix editor of the scratchpads, expecting to add identification services on their sites.
• Users who consult a scratchpad instance and need resources to identify specimens.
• Users of tools to manage descriptive data and to identify (Xper2, Lucid, DeltaAccess etc.) who want to include these data in a scratchpad site.
