SPECIFICATION SHEET ROBUST FEATURE SET Motorola’s iDEN HWCS offers digital communication services including two-way dispatch, wireless telephone interconnect, data communications, and messaging. The system can operate at both 800 MHz and 900 MHz and allows for separate or combined fleets of 800 MHz and 900 MHz users. The system’s two-way dispatch portfolio of services includes private and group calling, call alerting, and dispatch calling line identification. Advanced dispatch communications capabilities including crossfleet private dispatch call, emergency group call, priority calling, and multiple talkgroup scan. Isolated Site Operation allows talkgroup users to communicate on a RF site if a lost connection to the Mobile Switching Office occurs. Wireless telephone interconnect services include standard mobile originated and mobile terminated calls. Calling line identification services, both presentation and restriction, are available in addition to the full set of call forwarding capabilities. A suite of call barring services is also included to govern telephone interconnect use at a system level and by individual users. The system is capable of performing translations of dialed digits for incoming and outgoing calls to and from the system. The translations can be performed on dialed digits, trunk groups, subscriber groups, and the subscriber’s originating location. Class of Service is also available allowing selected groups of subscribers to be established with their own unique dial plan. Source directed routing enables calls to the same number to be routed to different destinations based on the subscriber’s location in the network. A variety of signaling protocols are supported by the system, including PRI and ISUP. Basic telephone interconnect emergency calls such as E911 Phase I and Phase II are supported as well as Local Number Portability. iDEN Harmony Wireless Communication System Packet data communication, supporting gross data rates of up to 96 kbps is available. Dispatch networking, packet data, messaging and telephone interconnect roaming are supported between multiple Harmony Wireless Communication Systems as well as with other iDEN systems. Motorola’s patented security algorithm is used to combat cloners and other unauthorized users from gaining access to the system. ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS Motorola NetDispatch Messenger allows personal computer users in an IP environment to communicate worldwide with subscriber units in an HWCS RF environment using dispatch services. Dispatch services can be integrated with Motorola CENTRACOM Gold Elite or MCC5500 Consoles. Dispatch group call voice recording is also available. MESSAGING Traditional GSM-based short message service, mobile- originated and mobile-terminated, is supported. An affordable alphanumeric messaging alternative is supported for more cost conscious operators. Both alternatives support voice mail alert notification to the subscriber unit. Text messages up to 140 characters each can be sent to subscribers with acknowledgement of successful or unsuccessful delivery returned by the system. Both on board and off board text messaging are supported for message submission.

Packet data communication, supporting gross data rates of up to 96 kbps is available.

Dispatch networking, packet data, messaging and telephone interconnect roaming are supported between multiple Harmony Wireless Communication Systems as well as with other iDEN systems.

Motorola’s patented security algorithm is used to combat cloners and other unauthorized users from gaining access to the system.

iDEN Harmony Wireless Communication System

coMpact MoBiLe SWitchinG officeThe MSO consists of the control and power cabinets. The small MSO footprint and comparatively low power draw make an ideal solution for operations with limited floor space while helping to minimize operations costs.

The control cabinet contains all of the hardware and software necessary to support dispatch, packet data and telephone interconnect call processing, network and alarm management and remote access. The power cabinet, a standard feature of the system, provides a continuous power supply with up to 8 hours of battery back up.

pRoVen MotoRoLa ceLL Site anD SUBScRiBeR Unit technoLoGYThe HWCS incorporates Motorola’s market proven and affordably priced iDEN cell site technology. Omni and sector configurations are available. The system supports a full range of iDEN subscriber units including industry leading mobile devices, ruggedized units designed for high ambient background noise, consoles and RF modems.

oUtStanDinG DiGitaL Rf efficiencYThe HWCS incorporates Motorola’s 6:1 TDMA radio frequency interleave, enabling up to six simultaneous conversations to be carried in one 25 KHz channel. By contrast, today’s analog systems carry only one conversation in the same channel bandwidth. Up to five times more users can be supported with the same amount of RF resources. Optionally, system operators can elect to use Motorola’s premium audio quality 3:1 RF interleave for wireless telephone interconnect. AMBE++ and VSELP voice coders are supported.

SiMpLifieD opeRationS anD MaintenanceThe HWCS is designed to keep operations costs to a minimum. Equipped with both a local management console and a remote access router, the system is accessible by operations personnel, over a standard dial up connection, from anywhere. There is no need to maintain personnel on site at all hours.

Likewise, call detail records are collected and stored by the system and can be downloaded locally or remotely by the operator’s downstream customer management system.

The HWCS’s programmable alarm notification features deliver major and critical alarm notifications to both local and remote management consoles and can be configured to deliver pages via email or to personnel carrying conventional numeric pagers.

ScaLaBiLitYThe HWCS MSO supports from one to 576 RF cells. Motorola offers a wide range of HWCS System Configurations to accommodate extremely small systemswith just a few RF sites & users, and up through the maximum system configuration. The hardware supportsthe system’s maximum subscriber database capacity of50,000 users. Accommodating subscriber and coverage area growth is principally accomplished by adding cell sitesand base radios.

faSt anD eaSY inStaLLationThe Harmony Wireless Communication System is designed to get the system operator up and running quickly and easily. The MSO is integrated at Motorola’s manufacturing facility and can be activated on site within a few days. The entire system can be operational within a week’s time depending on the number of sites installed with the system.

MotoRoLa cUStoMeR SUppoRt & SoftWaRe Maintenance pRoGRaMMotorola’s customer support facility is accessible by HWCS operators 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Product support, for one year,is included as a basic service. Another service offered is the annual software maintenance program that delivers exciting new features, allowing operators to serve their clients better.
