Fight Scenes

Gun Fight Scenes

Car Chase scene

Explosion scenes

Romance scene

Death scene

Parkour scenes

Why do these mood boards relate to the action genre for my short film?

• Fight scene this is were people are hitting one another for reason into the plot, you’d expect to see fight scenes in action because I’d say that’s what you came to watch it makes the story more interesting if there is two guy scraping it.

• Gun fight scene were you see people using weaponry instead of fists, It’s iconic to see gun fights in films its almost like fight scene but more people are in them, you could say that the people shooting first you could say are the antagonist because the protagonists are not killers(if that was the story).

• Car chases are were cars are going fast down a road faster than the speed limit, you would also expect to scenes in action due to the protagonist being chased either to escape or catching someone who he was looking for, it gives you a thrill an exciting to watch.

• An explosion scene is where a building or structure is destroyed causing an explosion and loud sounds., there is always someone wanted to blow up something either sending a message or trying to get rid of something this is iconic in a action film because they make the film more visual because the sound and the visual look amazing when happening.

• There is always a women in trouble and the protagonist saves her making her fluster with enjoyment, this leads to them having a romantic kiss because of the experience that they’ve experience you’d expect to see this in most action films because its iconic to see a women who Is saved by the protagonist.

• Then we have death scenes, either were the protagonist dies or civilians die even the villain, you would expect to see this after the scenes I’ve described such as the gun fight and explosion scenes just because in some stories the protagonist’s friend is killed by the antagonist which helps him become stronger and to be a better person this would relate because someone the protagonist knows mostly always dies.

• Finally there is parkour scenes this would be similar to car chase but on foot you’d could relate to this just because it is different from car chases more intense when running on roofs to catch the foe.

Setting

Why did I choose these setting for inspiration?

• The different settings are: Bank, Virtual reality, large building, a forest and a Chinatown like place.

These were some of the places that I had an idea from, a lot of stuff can happen in each world they all can relate to action because you could associate Chinatown with the triad, in one of the movie they could be the main crime bosses in the film, or even if it was the building the Ceo of the company or whoever is at top of building the protagonist would have to reach them, for the woods/forest I’d see that they had to survive in the tough environment.

Shots

Why did I choose these shots for inspiration?

• The different shots that I choose were; Bird’s eye view, wide shot, close up, over the shoulder, point of view and the last one was a low angle shot. These shots I would probably take in my short film because for the opening I would want a opening where it shows the location on where we are at. Then there is the wide shot, I’d say I would do this where the characters are looking off somewhere and it shows the landscape behind them, then you have a close up I would combine this for the point of view shot because I’d do like a kidnapping scene where the protagonist is been captured and it shows the person in point of view shot but then a wide shot like the example shot then there is the other the shoulder shot I would just use this for conversations with the characters then finally the low angle I would use this when one of the main characters have fallen and the bad guys are looking over him which would then use the low angle shot.
