Getting Started

» Ideas follow this general path from “New Idea” to “Implemented”

» The ideas can vary from this path depending different factors such as idea quality, completeness, difficultly, etc.

» With each change in status, those involved will be notified by email.

New Idea

» To develop a New Idea, select the light bulb on the top of the left toolbar. Once you select “New Idea” the form below will populate.

» To create a new idea select the “add” button and select the category that best suits the idea. Then complete the desired improvement, summary, and detailed description of the idea.

» Lastly, determine whether you would like this idea to be visible to managers or all user groups with visibility to this category.

» A new idea can be as simple as implementing dress down Friday or very complex

» For this presentation we will develop an idea for a SMS Alert System

Ideas under Review

» Under the Revision tab, the reviewer can input estimations including:» Estimated Time» Estimated Costs » Priority» Viability» Estimated Return on

Investment» Quality

» Upon being created, an idea begins with the status "New". Each idea is assigned to a primary reviewer, as defined by the idea category.

» The Reviewer can perform actions such as sending for approval, archiving for another time or canceling, or solicit feedback.

Solicit Feedback

» Request Feedback from interested parties.» Experts» Customers» Employees» Vendors

» When all stakeholders provide feedback it represents a well rounded decision

» Different people may shed light on potentially overlooked details.

» Involved individuals are sent an email notification

Approved Idea

» Once the Idea has developed it is sent to the approver

» The approver has similar options as the reviewer, in addition to approving the idea.

» The last step for the approver would be to define the user who will implement the idea.

» This person will be responsible for turning the polished idea into reality

Idea in Progress

» The Implementer is responsible for guiding the idea through the Implementation process.

» They can input the steps necessary to complete the project and track the Implementation process

» Once the idea is fulfilled, the results can be inputted and reviewed

» The savings, investment, and additional income are also represented as direct result of the idea.

Implemented Idea

» According to the status, an idea can be open or closed.

» If the idea is completed, archived or canceled, the system considers it "closed", and is no longer in the main work area.

» Information related to the results of an idea can be entered by the implementer or approver after completion.

Archived Idea

» An idea can be archived and revisited at another time.

» To archive an idea, the system will require justification and there is an option to set a reminder to revisit past ideas.

» The user can open the idea at any time.

» Ideas left unattended for a set period of days will automatically be archived.

» Each idea status can have a customized length of time until automically archived.

Cancelled Idea

» An idea can be canceled by the reviewer or approver. In this case, Innovbook will also ask for justification and send notification via email to those involved.

» Even a cancelled idea is not lost, they can be archived until a future date.

» Cancelled Ideas can still be brought to review by selecting the “Return to Review” icon.
