About the Leaders Summit

2

The Leaders Summit responds to a growing need in the desalination and water reuse industry, the need to speak across sectors in order to effectively enact sustainable solutions. The effects of climate change, combined with the ever-growing demand for clean water across the globe, underscore the urgency of sustainable water solutions. At IDA, we understand the only way to create these solutions is by breaking down walls and building crossroads across industries and sectors to enlist the entire global community in our mission.

The Leaders Summit takes us one step closer to paving these crossroads. Bringing into dialogue executives from various sectors including finance, legal, project development, public and private utilities, and technical solution providers, the Summit will provide a common space for meaningful conversations to happen. Addressed topics include successful partnerships between the public and private sectors, recent market trends and their effect on financial investment and project funding, and how innovations in advanced water treatment solutions will perform across industries. The Summit is exclusive, with no more than 250 delegates, to ensure the intimacy and productivity of meetings between prominent leaders in the water and energy sectors. These kinds of conversations are increasingly necessary—and at IDA, we are working to make them happen.

IDA’s World Congress Leaders Summit will break down barriers and forge crossroads

towards sustainable solutions

Benefits of Attending

The Summit is designed to streamline conversations about sustainability among the industry ’s well-respected and difficult to reach leaders. Here are just a few exclusive features that make the Summit a truly unique and trailblazing event.

Hear From Experts

The Leaders Summit will host a series of panel discussions featuring experts from across industries. From questions of financial investment and innovative project development models, these panels will address the timely and crucial questions of clean water solutions and sustainability for industry, municipal, and non-municipal usage and needs. In addition to these panels, the Summit will showcase numerous keynote speakers revealing cutting-edge industry insights and projects.

Strategic Business Networking

The Summit is deliberately an exclusive affair, with no more than 250 delegates. The intimacy of the gather-ing is designed to foster meaningful conversation and networking. Delegates will have the opportunity to make connections—and as a result, will have the opportunity to take informed steps towards sustainable business.

Making an Impact

The International Desalination Association is a recognized NGO by the United Nations (UN), a partner of the UN’s Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), and a member of both the Water Sustainability Group and the World Water Council. As such, IDA is a unique voice in the global community, actively working to build strategic cooperation between the private and public sector to meet growing clean water needs.

This year, the IDA 2019 World Congress is held under the patronage of His Highness, Mohammed bin Ra-shid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, and is hosted by His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority. With one of the world ’s largest water mar-kets, the progressive city of Dubai is the perfect location for the Leaders Summit, exemplifying the spirit of collaboration and innovation needed around the world.
