Day 1: ReykjavíkArrive at the hotel and take some time to settle in. At 6:00pm we meet our guide in the hotel lobby for a short briefing before dinner. (Overnight Reykjavík, D)

Day 2: Reykjavik city tourToday we explore Iceland’s capital on a guided tour. Highlights include Hallgrimskirkja church, ‘The Pearl’, an impressive domed building which sits atop Öskjuhlíð hill and boasts beautiful views over the city and the Höfði House famous for hosting the 1986 summit of presidents Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev. Become acquainted with the city centre and the bustling area around the old harbour, which is home to Harpa, the striking concert and conference house. After lunch we drive into the wild Icelandic countryside to visit Glaumbær, Skagafjördur Heritage Museum before arriving in the beautiful Northern village of Akureyri. (Overnight Akureyri, B, D)

Day 3: Lake Mývatn & AkureyriOur journey towards the Lake Mývatn area is truly spectacular. Pass through a diverse landscape which boasts areas of geothermal activity and unique geological formations interspersed with delicate arctic flora. The Lake Mývatn area is an area of high volcanic activity with plenty of craters, bubbling mud pools and geothermal caves to see. The highlights of this tour are a stop at the magnificent Godafoss Waterfall and the imposing pseudo-craters of Skutustadagigar. At the dramatic lava fields of Dimmurborgir hear the mystic sagas and tales surrounding its formation. Our last stop will be in Krafla volcano region to see

the Viti crater. The day ends on a relaxing note at Mývatn Nature Baths, where you can bathe in the hot geothermal waters in the midsts of the lava fields and overlooking Lake Mývatn. (Overnight Akureyri, B, D)

Day 4: Highland & Vík

Today it’s time to travel through the incred-ible highland plateau of Iceland, a unique experience unlike anything else you can experience in Iceland. We will take the an-cient Kjölur route, through the vast and alien landscapes inaccessible without spe-cialized Highlander vehicles. We will stop at Hveravellir, an oasis in the middle of the highlands – Icelandic style. The name translates to Hot Springs Field and here you can even enjoy a bath in one of the springs while enjoying the surreal surroundings. Take the chance to go for some easy hiking before we arrive on the south coast in Vík in the later afternoon. (Overnight Vík, B, D)

Day 5: Jökulsárlón & VíkAnother unforgettable day is in store as we visit the Black Sand Beach – its enormous basalt stacks are a wondrous natural phenomenon. Afterwards we continue towards the Sakftafell National Park and onwards to the Jökulsárlón Glacier. We explore the glacial lake on the Amphibian Boat tour, where we will get to see some mesmerising views of the largest ice cap in Europe, the Vatnajökull Glacier. In the late afternoon we continue along the coastline to Vík. (Overnight Vík, B, D)

Day 6: Golden Circle & SelfossOn the Golden Circle tour we will experience three of Iceland’s most famous and impressive attractions: Þingvellir National

Park, the geothermal area of Geysir and the Gullfoss Waterfall. Þingvellir National Park is located right at the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The results of the continents drifting apart is clearly visible in the landscape. At the geothermal area of Geysir there are several different hot springs, amongst them the very active Strokkur which sends a column of boiling water high into the air every 6-10 minutes. Gullfoss is a majestic waterfall in the Hvítá river which in two stages plunges more than 30 meters into a deep crevice. During the day, we stop at the Fontana Spa to enjoy a rye bread tasting and bread making demonstration! (Overnight Selfoss, B, D)

Day 7: Blue Lagoon & ReykjavíkThis morning we drive along the south coast, through Hveragerði and southwards towards the Strandarkirkja Church located on grassy plains facing the North Atlantic Ocean. Next we pass the Nature reserve of Reykjanesfólkvangur, before we visit one of Iceland’s biggest highlights – the Blue Lagoon. Relax in its 40 degree natural mineral water while looking out over heavenly Icelandic scenery – an absolute must do! In the afternoon we arrive back in Reykjavik for some free time and a chance to go shopping in the world’s most Northern capital. This evening we enjoy a farewell dinner at the incomparable Viking Village in the charming suburb of Hafnarfjördur. Try several Icelandic delicacies like Brennivin and shark! (Overnight Reykjavik, B, D)
